Try this article: http://www.caranddriver.com/features...the-tread.html.
Many moons ago, I had a set of T1-S on my Crown Vic that were truly awesome. When the T1-R came out, I read several reviews that stated that they weren't up to the performance levels of the T1-S. In this Car and Driver article, the tire comes in 8th out of a group of eleven tires. |

i have heard good and bad but i know i cant go wrong with that tread wear rating. i have seen high performance khumos with better tread wear ratings but they are less high performance than the toyos. anyone know of a super high performance tire with an above 300 tire wear rating?

Check out: Falken Fk452.
I don't have any experience with them but they seem to be a good competitor to the Toyo T1-Rs.

I had T1R's on my s2k for a few thousand miles, and I hated them. They truely decreased the handling on the car a pretty noticeable amount when coming them to the stock s02's that were on the car before I switched them. I would never use those tires again, I was really disapointed with them. If you are looking for high treadwear (280) and a great handling tire then give BF Goodrich KDW2's a look, I plan on using them again on the E92, they are really a great handling tire at a very fair price.

I had the T1Rs on my last car..and T1S on the one before...the T1Rs werent very good in the rain at all...and they had nasty inside wear..and I did rotate my tires..since it was an Audi. I think there are lots of better options out there now..I am going to try Michelin PS2 tires this time....for my daily driver..and I will get some other R compounds for dedicated track use.

what about the top of the line goodyear eagle. they may have a weird pattern but they have a good tread rating and seem to perform very well

I have T1Rs now and they are one of the worst tires I've owned.
In the last 4 years, I've used the following. Conti 2s - 3 diffent sets on 3 different cars. Falken ST-115 (very short lived. awful tire) Pirelli PZero Nero 3 sets of Mich PS2s on Audi S4s and mkV GTI RE050A on 330i ZHP PS2s on 330i ZHP RE050A RFT on 335i Toyo T1Rs on 335i I would NEVER buy these tires again. I had to really play with PSIs to get ride of horrid understeering. Grip is MEDIOCRE at best. I know that my buddies Generals Exc. have better grip than these T1Rs. They TramLine(wander in grooves) like crazy on concrete freeways (here in LA) Mostly it comes down to Grip or lack there of really. The tires just Give out.... there is no gradual give of grip. The PS2s, you can feel a linear loss of grip and know where the threshold is. Toyos, just started to squel and NO GRIP..... not good, imho I've tracked cars with PS2s, PZeros and Contis. All of them put the Toyos to shame. I was very suprised. Maybe I expect too much from my tires. But then again, that IS what is keeping me attached to the ground. I will be replacing with Conti 3s or RE010Rs, now that I got my car out of 7 weeks of Fuel Pump hell. To the STI guy, RA1s and T1Rs are NOT the same............ NOT even close !!! |

http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...r=40&tc=HANHZ3 I do not have any experience with these either but they have received good user comments on discount tire.

The T1-Rs weren't that great on my S2000. They wore quickly, weren't too noisy, and the grip did not feel nearly as good as the stock Bridgestone S02s.

I wish there are more tire brand make 255/30/19
All I can found in this size are CSC3, DUNLOP SP MAXX and T1R T1R is the most cheap one. Guess I don't have too many choice
