BMW e90 airbag module? helpppppp plzzz

Hi there I'm a newbiee, so my car was involve in a collision and the airbags deployed, I have managed to get thedl drivers and passengers airbags changed. I have read that you can't get the module reset, I have been told you have to get a new module and have to go to BMW to get it coded to your vehicle??? All I want to know is if this is true and if anyone cab reset it whom will it be???

Also after the crash the car won't start at all, when I press the start button, all I can hear is a slight "tick" and that's it, the battery was swapped over with a new one but the same thing happened. The electrics and lights work but it just won't start. I have now reattached the old battery as the battery is not faulty. I have done some reading and I have been told that the BMW has some sort of safety feature near the negative terminal of the battery and some wiring needs to be replaced. I have never dealt with a damaged car before and would be very grateful if someone can help with my issues. Thank you

The safety terminal is on the positive side of the battery. Once deployed it needs to be changed. You can temporarily jump if out if you need to move the car but nothing long term. The module can be reset up to three times before it needs changing so don't let anyone bullshit you in that regard. Hope this helps

Hi there mate I have the same thing as you. Both my airbag deployed as I brought the car damaged.

I have by passed that lead so the car starts and I don't need a new lead.

Its got to do with the positive lead, all you have to do is if you want to by pass it is. Take the battery out. Then postive lead which is connect at the bottom where the battery sits. Now take out the 10mm nut. Once you take
It out, cut red box which is on postive lead and once you have cut that, there will be a black little plastic take out that plastic and the car will start.

It will work forever you won't have a problem and if you want to change the lead it's 105 from the dealer. If you need any more help give me a shout.

Am from Birmingham too.

Thanks

You can clear SRS module with INPA .... IE remove crash data ...

Jumping battery might be not the best idea ...

If you can't afford the new battery module at the time .. you can re compress old one... I will not post full diy due to safety reasons .. For your own safety I would recommend replacing the cable.

Just wondering, what are those safety issues, if you bypass and connect it directly?

I guess you are referring to this red box.

Kindly correct me if I am wrong.
