Hey folks, im hunting down my next vehicle and really want it to be an 09+ E90. Currently looking at a loaded CPO 09 335i 6MT blk/blk with 40k miles and trying to work a deal with my TL.
My only concern at this point is the maintenance schedule and what needs to be serviced and when. I work on my own vehicles so that is not a concern. If the 335 im looking at is at 40k miles what are some maintenance items that will be coming up? Any chance they took car eof it during certification? thanks! |

Here is a link to the old school maintenance schedule or you can follow one from BavAuto (e9x specific).

Why does it say timing belt at 90k miles? Don't we have a timing Chain? Last time Bmw used timing belts was in the early 90's. I guess everyone tries to rip you off.

im just trying ot get an idea of what to expect to replace for preventative maintenance. honestly, it sounds like there is nothing out of the ordinary with this vehicle so i assume i have nothing to worry about or a bunch of you would be chiming in on expensive preventative maintenance.
thanks for your help |

There is a separate Warranty/Service manual which contains the BMW recommended maintenance schedule which basically it consists of:
Oil Change - CBS (Condition Based Service, average 15,000 miles) or yearly. Brake fluid - every two years. Spark Plugs - 45,000 for turbo motors, 100,000 for non-turbos. Air & Cabin Filters - Every two years (?) Inspection and Road Test - Every 30,000 miles. Many owners will change oil, transmission & FD fluid and coolant more frequently - see Mike Miller's recommendations. Tom |
