Code P2AAF should I be concerned?
Ok before you guys give me a a hard time and tell me to search, I did . I did find that thread that Mr . 5 has posted with the codes, I don't know if I'm reading it right but, I did find something that read like this- 2AAF Fuel pump plausibility fix - very common code stock + modified alike, does not trigger a cel just ignore it. Well I was driving today and the car is running strong. I run stage 1 agg. v4.00 and have never had codes, well today I got code P2AAF. Just wanted to know if I should worry? The car has no cel and it starts good no long cranks, as I have heard is a sympton of the fuel pump going. Any ideas?

But you may still have more success with the 2AAF code.

Thanks Skim - I spoke with Cobb, and they verified that it's usually not a code to worry about. I'll try replacing the spark plugs and coil packs for the 3 misfiring cylinders and go from there.

Sounds good! The coil packs on these cars are really cheap POS's IMHO... misfires in my experience are always the coil packs if your spark plugs are changed regularly. GL!

as of yesterday i replaced the valve cover, gasket, all plugs and all coils as i was having misfiring issues on 3 and 5, put everything together and car ran correctly, i was proud. ran it all day to the movies and back to a friends and back etc. At first i was running OFT stage 0 map, switched to stock map and ran a log and its been stock for the rest of the day. went to go to the local autocross today, loaded map0 again, and started off driving fine then all of a sudden, it shakes violently when giving it gas, especially around 3k rpms, and no noticeable vibrations during idle, SES light came on with the following codes;
ps9cf, p2aaf, p29d9, and p2f49. What do they mean, and what the heck happened? |

BMW tech told me that the code is more of a phantom code anyhow. It will accompany others (i.e. misfire) but its nothing to worry about.
clear the misfire and the code will likely clear on its own in time, if it stays and you have no other symptoms, its likely just a phantom code hanging around

after replacing the HPFP and the Low Pressure
sensor occasionally I will have this code. note I have refrained from using E85 but run the JB4 of auto learn and have this. the only thing inwanto do is replace the injectors since BMW only changed 3. I want I replace all 6 and a fresh set of iridiums. |
