BMW Performance Exhaust Video on my 335i - Enjoy!

Good afternoon Everybody!

I remeber not finding a lot of information / Videos on this exhaust before buying it in Decmeber '11, so here's a video I put together on one of the first nice days of the year. Video was taken with a HD Hero GoPro 2 camera and a ATR 3550 Mic mounted at bottom of the rear bumper. The car is a 2008 E92 335i, no engine modifications. Enjoy and feel free to ask if you have any questions!

Very happy with the sound! A little louder than expected from an OEM part but that's quite alright

It was fun watching your video of Birmingham and Rochester!

The local E90 group should get together soon

I'll be a black e90 with black grills and blacklines on Woodward during the work commute. Flag me down if you see me!

Sounds good, but is that accurate in real life? Or does it sound different?

It starts to sound like a turbo 4 cylinder a bit with this exhaust on the video, while the OEM exhaust has more of that exotic higher pitched whine that sounds like an inline 6. (Racecar sounds)

This was also my experience, but to the point I am removing it and selling it. My stock one is going back on tomorrow. It's not a frikkin Lamborghini, it's a 3 series, that was my thought.
It was also awkward for heads to turn expecting something exotic, then looking confused when they see a black E93
Don't get me wrong, it is a fantastic exhaust, and it sounds great to everyone who has heard it that I know personally, it simply isn't for me. Some lucky SOB is going to benefit from this

P.S. a video CANNOT do this exhaust justice. Please keep this in mind folks.

Love mine too. Good job on the video. I watched the German version before buying mine but this video let's you hear it from the drivers seat not some drive-bys. Really nice. Dark knight, not because we can't all drive lambos doesn't mean we can't enjoy some exotic sounds

Haha, exactly my friend- well put! It really is fantastic in every conceivable way, just wasn't my thing. I know it'll sell quick
Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Hey OP, great video. Just a question though - did you just install the Performance Exhaust and not the complete Performance Edition package (which boosts your HP from 300 to 320)? I heard that the increase in HP also makes a difference, so wasn't sure if you had that too. Great job on the video!

Is the the same exhaust that is stock in the 335is? It sounds like it.

Such an amazing sound!

Thanks for sharing the video

Nice! I'm local too. I laughed when I saw the street buildings. I don't see them in videos much.

Thanks for the great video! Could you comment on how it sounds on the inside with the windows up? I don't mind how loud it is a WOT, but how loud is it under normal acceleration, and cruising between 1500-3000rpm?

Perhaps if you have some more time you could create an interior video?

Thanks for the views and comments! It's definitely a great sounding exhaust - different from the oem sound (not just louder) so I understand that it is not to everyone's liking.

Its a bit of a p.i.t.a. to reply to anybody from the mobile app, therefore I will do so when I get home from work tonight!

Gaah! Love it. This is on my List Of Things To Get, but I wonder if it won't be a bit too loud and attention-grabby for me. Not sure... installing the PPK soon, and we'll see if that satisfies me. If not, the PE will be next.

Oh, and thanks for the glimpse of Birmingham. Makes me miss home! Bloomfield Hills kid here, but haven't lived in Michigan for almost a decade now.

Aaaannnnddd we've been moved... I'll try to showcase a bit more of scenic SE Michigan in the next one, maybe it will get to stay a little longer.

Thanks. Unfortunately I don't get on woodward much except on the weekends for pleasure, work is Rochester to Auburn hills and back. Would be happy to get together.

Don't like going near MSU but I can make an exception! Will be checking out the local local forums and see if I can join you guys for some meets.

Will try to do some more scenic footage next time, this was cut by sound, not picture. Evidentally bad idea as it was moved here.

It's a great exhaust, although I think the german version would have been quieter at times with the valve closed.

No performance package. My little brother drives the car, Dem3ern, and it's enough power for him already.

definitely a lot of potential with this car, but for the above mentioned reason probably not this summer!

It is slightly different from what I understand, this one is actually more agressive than the stock IS

will do my best, but will repost in a new thread for a "driving" video and try to keep it in the main forum longer.
