Installed a couple of mods: Dinan air intake, M3 Strut Bars, and Exhaust
I thought I would share my latest mod stories. Starting by removing the cowl cover, I thought I would install my Dinan air intake and M3 strut brace at the same time. Then, I took my car took to the installer to have installed my Radenergie exhaust plus welding back my Cyba tips from the OEM exhaust.
Short Story Driving Impressions: SNAP, the torque off the line is amazing. Especially in DS and step-manual modes is where things happen quicker. Now I must temper my right foot for not wishing any more speeding tickets. It is nice to know that pushing up to 8/10 there is plenty of oomph. The exhaust note is nice and deep with little to no droning. The guy who sold me the exhaust claimed it sounds more like a RPI’s, but after hearing other sound clips, I think it sounds more Aquqray (deep and rich). Not used to having an aggressive exhaust note before, I was concerned it would annoy my wife. So far so good, she has not mentioned anything to me when she is in the car (as long I do not punch or I get out-of-hand), I will be alright. The M3 strut brace is not a “Oh my God” mod; rather it is more complementary component to the already placed M3 bits system, which provides even more steering feed back than the standard brace. It really shows it worth during the high speed sweepers and cloverleaf ramps. Like I said before, getting out-of-hand is quite easy –now learn self control.

Great looking stuff! Congrats!
I'm a little confused though. What power items got installed just now? FMIC and Intake? Is that where you feel the power? Just curious. Also, how does the intake sound? It is a beautiful piece of art. |

Hopefully the title is clearer now. Sorry for the confusion. Yeah, I've dropped in Dinan intake. (I've already have a ETS IC installed.) Compared to the AFE and OEM exhaust I had before, it's seem to be less lethargic as for the initial throttle -a bit more lively. Probably due to less restriction, having both systems has helped the engine. No, I do not hear any intake sounds. More than likely, the aggressive exhaust tone is drowning out any intake noise if any -hahaha. Thanks for the kind words.

FYI, One other item I had forgot to mention when dealing with the M3 brace. I had an issues getting the cowl cover positioned and placed on the driver's side. I found the driver's rear bolts (nearest to the center V-bracket) raises the cowl cover upwards and making impossible locking in the cowl cover to the firewall's rubber seal.
There are three or four tabs that guide and position the cowl cover into place. Using my Dremel's cutoff tool, I cut off the middle section of tabs except for the outer tabs. This was the magic ticket. Cowl cover dropped into place after that -whew.

reviving this old thread. I too have the Dinan CAI, but was wondering are you running a chargepipe and an aftermarket BOV/DV? Asking because i'm curious if there are any clearance issues with the chargepipe/DVs.

My old set-up had the Dinan CAI along with an ETS charge pipe and Tial BOV. No clearance issues.

Looks like he's using a ER charge pipe in one of the pics and if you look at his sig he's running Forge DV's.
