Pss9 setting update...

Ok so after messing with different settings, I finally got it dialed in to a good balance between confort/performance. 3F 5R seems almost perfect right now. I will try 3F 4R on monday to see if that is slightly better.

Im at 5F 5R. I think I will try your 3F 5R and see how it works for me. Let me know how you like 3F 4R.

Guys..guys..guys...you need to have the back setting slightly lower in number than the front...so that the car rotates better...the car from the factory has a tiny rear sway bar...you can fix this understeer by many methods..adjusting tire pressure, stiffer springs in back, among other things..but one of the easiest ones you can do is make your shocks stiffer in the back by setting them 2 clicks LOWER than the front. I played a lot with PSS9s on my past car..30K miles later..I felt that 6F/4R was good for that car...so then I did the same on my 335i...its working pretty good for me now...and I did a bunch of canyon runs today...DO NOT make the setting lower in the front.

>>> I had my PSS9 set on 2F 2R in the audi. Audi was set up so the rear end should be stiffer but then the Audi was usually 60/40 weight ratio so I felt making it even settings helped balance the car out. For the 335, definately handles better with front stiffer, the back drags along very nicely. By putting the rear 2 settings stiffer makes the "already twitchy" back end even more twitchy. You would need much larger rear sway bar. I dont have the rear sway bars on yet so on stock sway bars the rear on softer setting felt much better. Most shops will tell you the same. Try putting it on 2F,3R or 1F,2R and go thru a turn. Tell me its not faster than your 3F,1R setup.

I forget the exact cost but it was like $1565 shipped or something. Call Eric at Supreme Power Parts for a price.

Ok had them installed today and set them to 7 in front and 5 in the rear.

Seems like i have more bodyroll than before, could the rear be to soft? Would going to 6 front and 4 rear help?

Otherwise they are outstanding and very comfortable!

I'M running 5F 5R right now and the car rides better then before and handles better too. I'M going to try 6F 4R to see if I feel anything different.

How much did you lower your car Crazy Bimmer?

The shop that installed mine (last week) set the front at 5 and the rear at 3... they said that a higher rear made it too stiff. my two cents. BTW, i hear some high pitch "klonking" mostly from the front whenever i go over certain bumps... they dont have to bee deep but any sharp change in road surface makes that noise. Anybody has any experience with that? What could it be due to?

If I understand you correctly, actually thought PSS9's were stiffer at a lower setting...

I honestly DON'T have a clue if the higher numbers denote lower or higher "stiffness"... But i will ask the guys from the shop on Tuesday (When i will take the car back because of the annoying clunking sound) and will let you know
