Wierd suspension problem...
So my car has felt a bit loose lately over bumps at freeway speeds, this morning I took a sweeping corner at 80mph with a solid bump in the middle. Normally this doesn't feel pleasant, but the car is still planted. This morning the entire rear of the car got 'loose' or 'squirrely', it feels like something is busted in the rear suspension.
Anyone have any ideas of what it could be? I also noticed I can feel it a bit on bumps outside of a turn, just not nearly as much. |

My guess is bushings. Maybe toe links? If it gets squirrely during bumps, I bet your are having toe management issues. Just a hunch, though...
I bet the launches have taken their toll on the poor little bits of rubber. ![]()

1. From 20mph in 2nd gear, full throttle, the entire rear of the car shifts to the right. 2. Angled my driver mirror so I can see the rear driver side wheel, when I hit the gas the tire angles in towards the rear passenger door...WTF!?!?! I'm going to put it up on a jack when I get home and see what it looks like under there... |

I was going to say endlinks at first but since you're stating that the tire is angling in towards the passenger door, I'm more incline to say a trailing arm. Do you hear any rattling or clunking noise when you go over a bump?
Below is the suspension components of a 2008 335xi. the trailing arm is #11 #14 is the track strut which I don't think it would be and then there's the wish bone# 18 Hope you don't have a long way to drive. keep an eye on the wear. I'm suspecting you'll wear the inside of your rear tire if it's angled in like you say.. Good Luck ![]()

Car is hardly driveable now, got under it and found both front arms connecting the wheels to the car are damn near broken in half!
Jeez I don't want to know what happens when they break while driving... |

You got duct tape in the car?... J/K...
Don't chance it and get it towed. Risking your life as well as others out there is not worth it. There's always tomorrow bro...

To those of you following this, the culprit was the dyno operator hooking up the straps where they shouldn't have gone. Needless to say he's covering the repair cost, I watched them hook up the straps but didn't crawl under the car to see where they were setup. Lesson learned...
