Switching Lights to Euro configuration

Hi All

I am off over the water this weekend, and i just remember that i have to change my lights, so that i don't blind anyone. Not that they change them when they come here.

do i have to use the sticky things, or can i press a button on the car.
the car is fitted with adaptive headlights, so i am not sure the sticky things will work any way.

Thanks

Isn't there a switch you can flick on each of the light units themselves?

I'd be interested to know as I go back and forth to Europe throughout the Spring and Summer

If you have e92 then the headlights have s switch inside if you search there is guide here somehere I recall.

If you have e90 than its a pita as the switch is so hidden (especially on xenons) that its wheel arch out job.

Annoying as on the current C class you can switch to between LHD and RHD headlight config from the on screen display using the menu buttons on the steering wheel. Especially if you have the full xenon adaptive lights packlage why did not BMW do this is annoying

on e92 you remove the top cover plate between two the moutning lugs and its inside there. The part 2 in the picture is just where the power plug conects

E91 and E90 xenons with adaptive supposidly have a switch inside the headlight unit. However its so bad to access officially you have to use stickers. When I looked at it I found its a case of wheel arch liner out, remove the large cover plate form the rear of the headlight and its there. Can be done but about 30 minutes per side.

This is on e90 LCI Xenons with Adaptive. Complete PITA as on e46 it was easy switch on xenons. In end I just did not bother as found when I turn on fogs it actually changes the pattern remove the left kink. So at night few times I needed it drove with fogs.

Not ideal but having had to replace my lenses on headlights due to stickers damaging them I'm never putting them on again. Hopefully on F30 BMW will do what merc has done on the C and simply do a button on the idrive to press

I have an F10 with dynamic lighting and adaptive xenons and there is still no easy control on the i-Drive to switch over. I am told though that if one switches off the adaptive part of the lighting then it simply produces a non-angled flat beam pattern that can be used on either side of the road, but you lose the adaptive aspect.

Re the above post. For my trip to France, I bought the BMW headlamp sticker Kit No. 63 11 2 152 539.
For cleaning the lens after removal of the stickers, there were included in the kit, sachets of special cleaner.
I had no problem.

Is that the Sticker Kit they shamelessly charge about £35 for .... and then ask you to trim it to size depending on your model, light set-up etc ???

It's a disgrace BMW had this problem licked with the easily accessable switches on the earlier 3 series (e46 ?) and this feature is not on the e9x. It's about the only thing that ticks me off about our 330d coupe .....

the problem is if you leave the stickers on for a long time they can melt the lense had it happen to me on a a3.

Its a right pita that they went backwards from e46 xenons which had an easy lever even on the saloon and now ask you to pay for stickers a simple menu on the speedo screen where you turn your settings DRL would have solved this. Very poor

Had a quite funny situation at the docks this morning, 5 BMW 3's all with the hoods up, while the drivers are scratching there heads trying to work out how to change the lights over. So we all had a got to know each other.
Then a Merc driver turned up and said can't you do it from your dash, you should have seen the looks.....
Went for the sticky covers in the end. Not sure if they are on right, don't care. But not doing and night driving any how.

Thanks for all the advice gents.
