Need help, 335xi 18" plus size tires
Hey guys, I need some advice on a comfortable 18" tire/wheel setup.
I drive an 07 335xi on terrible downtown Montreal roads with 225x40x18 hankook v12 tires up front and 255/35/18 at the back as my summer setup. After a single season, both my front rims were noticeably uneven spinning on a balancing machine, after hitting a few serious potholes last year. Amazingly the rear rims are perfect. They are relatively cheap Bremmer Kraft BR05 in black, 18x8" in the front 9" wide in the back which I'm pretty sure are gravity cast alloy. Unfortunately tirerack no longer sells these wheels so I'd like to replace the both rims and tires and go for something more durable and as comfortable as possible. Can anyone give me some advice on ideal 18" plus sized tires? I want to move to larger diameter (not wider) tires, would 225/45/18 front and 255/40/18 rear fit my 335xi without issues? Maybe 235/45/18 and 265/40/18? My baby: As for the the rims, would these BBS CH-R be more durable? They are low-pressure cast alloy: |
