Suspension advice Please
Hello,
I am going to upgrade the suspension on my 335i m-sport and i don't want to spend a fortune so am just going to buy the lowering springs. Will i see much difference in handling with just the springs? Will it be must different from the m-sport springs? which are better? The Eibachs pro springs or the H&R springs? Which out of the above sit the car lower? Thanks for any advice in advance Lee |

The H&R will give you a lower drop and is harder ride than the Eibachs. You wont't see much difference on a Msport with Eibachs either.
Can I throw another make into the mix? Vogtland is a German company and the springs are quite highly regarding in Europe especially on BMWs. It will give the same drop as the H&Rs but with the Eibach comfort. Just my opinion. I am consider this brand or Eibach Sportline for e91 for my vert as they have about the same axle load spring rate.

Quick observation though...
Not the same car or wheels compared so of little value really. Having done this myself, yes, there is a worthwhile drop at both ends but not as much as the white 4 door there. Something else in the mix perhaps? Heres a better comparison for you. First pic showing massive 'M Sport' comedy gap to Bridgestone tyre and second two hours after Pro-kit fitted (it did settle some more over time). Tyres can have big visual impact on the fender gap too. The OEM Flintstones I had have a shallow and raked back side wall which makes it look worse. Fit some fat space hopper sidewall tyres like Conti CS3 for example & the problem halves over night! Y Last edited by YvesD; 04-15-2012 at 11:29 AM.. |

Looking at the picture above that is not a great difference and you can get the same effect by just changing the spring perches.

I think after looking at all the posts here and some more advice on the net i am going to go for the H&R springs, from what i have read they sit a little lower than the eibach springs and are a little harder which i don't really mind as from what ive read they they are slightly better on performance
I just hope they don't sit lower than the wheel as that looks un-cool |

Sorry mate I wasn't trying to wind you up. That's a big enough drop for me though. I personally wouldn't want to go lower and compromise handling that's what I was getting at.

There are two Eibach coils, and the Eibach pro kit coil is about inch lower and a little firmer than M sport coils. The front drop is more than the rear so adds a nice forward rake of about 1.5 degrees to the car.

I doubt they will have sufficiently slow rebound speed to tame them properly. |
