Pull the code with an obd2 scanner, thats the only way you'll know for sure.

Don't worry about it. The exhaust mod won't do anything, that's everyone's first mod

Put it this way, you're not going to break anything with it unplugged. I'd invest in a BT Tool so you can read your codes. Great tool to use before going into the dealership for warranty work - knowing a bit about what is going on.

Your engine light didn't come up because of the golf tee mod. It was definitely something else that caused it.

He said he unplugged it. This is different than the golf tee mode and can definately throw a code.

You get an exhaust flap code, not a service engine soon light. Big difference.

There is no visual hard code. Yes there might be a code in the dme, but nothing will show up on the dash. The dealer doesn't even worry about this code anyway.

Agreed. It is a shadow code and should not cause a light.

If you pulled the vacuum line, put it back and clear the code. More than likely if you just unplugged the vacuum line and you didn’t get the hose plugged the code is for the vacuum leak. You can unplug the electrical connection to the solenoid behind the left hand tail light from within the trunk. This isn't an issue and don't worry about the shadow code if you get one, the dealerships don't care about exhaust modifications.
