Do you have heater seat ?
Looks like you have a XI so does this unit have room at the bottom under the heater controls for the HDC and seated seat buttons ? |

This is hardly new see dynavin threads.
This is hardly new see dynavin threads.
Search for dynavin here its been a popular all in one unit here for about 2 years. There are side effects to installing any aftermarket head unit be sure you are aware or them. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...hlight=dynavin There are many threads on the dynavin head unit some pretty large and recently some questioning the quality of it. Search=dynavin will return 5 pages of threads caraudiocraze.com used to be the favored place to get them. Not sure if the spelling is right. http://www.caraudiocraze.com/navigat...prod_1535.html Last edited by ctuna; 08-12-2012 at 12:54 PM.. |

Its probably the same with a different faceplate
These come from China probably from the same plant under two names dynavin and hughway or something like that. There are about two to three versions now and they have been adding tweaks to it over the last few years. The major changes have been to operating systems(windows and android) and display graphs and the new one can monitor
the OBD values display your engine values , which is kinda cool. The one displayed in the beginning of this thread looks like one of the earlier models. They will not interface with a Logic 7 amp nothing does. They are designed in Germany I believe , that's were they have to go for repair I have read. |

There are problems hooking this unit up with heated seats and (HDC) on all wheel drive models.
Stock seems good to me with out the problems of going after market. |

There is a relocation strip for the buttons
There is a relocation strip for the buttons.
It relocates the buttons for seat heaters to the ashtray area. If you read the larger dynavin thread you will see pictures of it. The problems with changing to and aftermarket head unit are. If you do not relocate the original head unit to the trunk 1)Alarms and chimes may not work (PDC being one) 2)You loose any Most Bus functions which include BMW Assist ,PDC , Satalite Radio , BMW Bluetooth and some of these will cause error displays on your dash as the car searches for these and they are no longer hooked up. 3)If you take your car to the BMW dealership and the car requires updates or repairs for which the values in software have to be changed the BMW diagnostic computer will not be able to make them. It works in such away that if it does not see the original configuration of the car it won't go further until it does. So if you are doing this kind of change at a minimum do not sell or dispose of your original head unit. |

Ugh, this thing is a piece of crap. No offense.
1) Installation is not a flush fit. 2) Good Luck getting ANY gps signal. Takes around 10 minutes to even get a lock. 3) Processor not powerful enough to perform pretty much anything. It's like trying to run Windows 8 on celeron processor, what good is functions if it is barely useable? 4) Build quality is crap 5) This thing is a joke to be called a system.

I have one of these available for anyone who may be interested.
I'm in Canada. There not as crappy as stated, but they aren't top of the line either. Gets the job done, and looks quite good. Took it out to replace it with a higher end unit in my 2008 335i. |

I'd be interested to know what you replaced it with and what your thoughts were since.
