maintenance on my 335i
Hi,
I am at 40k miles and i was wondering if i should perform any maintenance on my car. I do have the BMW maintenance plan, but they are useless, they only go by the book or codes. I was thinking of doing the following: 1- use Chevron -Techron fuel injector cleaning 2- change spark plugs 3- intake valve cleaning- chemical treatment-done by the dealer (~$350) anything else i missed? Thank you |

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=538296 I would also add to the service list: - Oil change in between dealer changes - change oil filter housing gasket every 50K - clean out FMIC with solvent (acetone or gasoline) to remove blow by. - change coil packs every 50K

Don't use gasoline, if its left too long or not cleaned off the FMIC it could destroy the finish on the inside of the IC. You're better off using acetone (which is used in chem labs to clean tools + also evaporates after prolonged exposure) or water. Just pour some in the inside of the FMIC, shake it around to remove any oil that's built up on the inside & use compressed air to dry out in the inside.
