Just installed Lux H8 Angel Eyes on e90 (large pics)

I got my shipment of Lux H8 today and it took me about 1 hour to install both.
(It's a real PITA to get the new bulbs because there's very little room to maneuver and its very hard to see the socket)

I have some before / after pictures, enjoy:

Now... After pics:

This is from about 20 feet away..that's the furthest I got shots .

I can take some more tomorrow from maybe 40-50 feet away.

Check and make sure you've got the bulbs in evenly. The uneven distribution between the outers and inners make me think that they may be in at an angle. Yeah, it's a tight fit, but it'll make a difference.

Ya, i had a very hard time getting the drivers side to screw in

I ended up turning it until it was tight and couldnt move it with my fingers any more....so i just thought it was in. But, i will double check

Do both sides look like that to u ?

Also, if you notice the stock photos, the inner rings are brighter than outer, maybe thats standard ?

Yes, the inner rings will be brighter, but your outers don't look as uniform as they should, imo.

See my post here (these aren't LUX's, but they are another HID kit):
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...7&postcount=16

Also, just because it's tight doesn't mean it's lined up....you can get 2 clips in and have the 3rd one wedged outside, giving you the angle you have. I'm not saying for sure that they're not in level, I'm just saying that I've been playing around with AE's for a while now....that's all.

Some pics I just took...it's kind of dark outside, so I took some closer ones to give you an idea, in addition to at least one of the angles you provided.

The problem with comparing photos is that based on camera settings, i can make the AEs look brighter or lighter.

I adjusted the exposure, shutter speed, iso in order to get shots that are closest to real life ... But it was very hard to capture the true brightness.

The other problem is angle - the angle at which you take the shot can make one side look brighter or one

However, i can tell you, the lux AE is definately brighter than stock AEs...as seen with my eyes.

The rings also have uniform brightness to my eyes

I have several more shots...ill upload more tomm

Aside from the insides being washed out because of the brightness, what you see in my pics is what you see in real life. Oh, and those were taking with my iPhone.

Dude I recognize that shopping center. Corner of cruse and club dr right? How do the lights look during a really sunny day? I've read that lux h8 can look washed out. Have you noticed that?

Yep, thats the one, u live nearby ?

The AE is brighter than stock , so dont think they would look washed out on a sunny day.

Ill try to take some more pics on a sunny day and post them here.

Removing a tab?

Hey guys did you have to cut a tab inside the light unit (towards the bottom).

The install instructions I have seen show a black cylindrical tab being pushed off its holder (looks like it has wires going into it?) and then the tab being cut off after leaving the bit that was pushed off floating around the light housing...

Also last question I promise - does the black box that comes with that LUX unit get put into the housing loose too...

Thanks guys - great photos though - looks good!

Go to lux website ans see the install guide. It will answer all your questions.

The black piece is not cut off, just removed and put aside. Black box fits inside housing...but its pretty crowded in there at this point so it doesnt move around much at all

Thank you - I have just seen a couple of people say you have to cut the tab to make room - glad to hear you don't!

Yes you do NOT need to cut the tab off, just move it out of the way.

Awesome pictures and glad you are happy with these!!!!!!
