Thanks to MNC performance

Hey guys, sorry for not explaining well I was in a rush.* I was loosing boost and after taking the car to a couple of indy shops and them not knowing whats wrong, *I was planning to take it to Auto Couture in Jersey.* After a member sent a link to MNC Performance on facebook and seeing that they look like they know what they are doing, I decided to give them a try.* Martin checked out the car with ISIS and saw that it was running lean he advised me to change 2fuel injectors cause they was the old 138s. After replacing them he found both did not have compression rings and after checking the rest they ALL did not have the compression rings!!! Not going to name the Stealership in NJ that worked on my car before but it looks that they never put them back on. *Anyway, now my car feels A LOT better, Thanks to Martin at MNC Performance, good to have a BMW Level 1 Master Tech close by!

I dont really browse the forums much. I just pretty much found out. LOL. Here's my first post. I stopped by MNC before. Decent place, Martin seems nice and knows his stuff. Also know he used to work at BMW LEvel 1 tech!! Told me he left BMW to open his own place.

Shop looks clean and has a fair amount of cars in there. One of the things I look for at a shop. No matter how quiet or busy a shop is, there has to be at least a couple cars there. I was just browsing around looking at shops after my warranty ends in case I need work done.

Then I still have my maintenance from BMW. Was talking to my service advisor about everything from extended warranty to other shops that can do BMW work without BMW prices. Then I talked to him about Martin from MNC. I told him Martin actually quit BMW and opened his own shop. The service advisor gave me a weird look as if confused and said Martin was actually FIRED from BMW for doing shady things. He recommended me to another shop in Maspeth next to the graveyard if I need any kind of work on my BMW. I have yet to check them out but I will soon go.

SO just a warning, be careful. I don't think I can trust anyone who got FIRED from BMW no matter how good they are. I don't want my car ended up with other broken parts causing more money to be spent. If there's no trustworthy shops, I might as well go back to the dealer or trade my car in for the new 3 series.

My buddy recently had his e60 worked on by Martin. Stellar job. Martin diagnosed the problem with control arm as soon as he began moving. Martin knows his stuff. No complaints. I also like the guys at AUTOCouture, but they're a bit away in NJ.

Hey guys, I hope this helps clear up things about Marty. A member from 5series.net recommended him to me about three years ago, way before MNC was opened. He diagnosed a few issues for me (extremely accurately). About a year ago I had a spring pop in the dual-mass flywheel, which resulted in a knocking noise - the pieces of the broken spring were grinding on the bell housing. Three other indies told me I would be better off getting a new engine. I asked Marty to look at the car. He used a boroscope to look inside the engine and ruled out engine internals as the problem. He then checked the transmission and found the problem. When the dust settled, he swapped the clutch, flywheel and the starter. I've taken my car to him a few times since and he is always on point.

I have to agree with Benzy because I would like to know also since I am somewhat skeptical about my dealership and I have had injectors replaced at my dealership and I wouldn't be surprised if something was wrong. Or at the very least would you be willing to pm me the dealer name

i think that is very naive of you.
when i hear "fired for doing shady things" i see that as he prob was helping people with modded cars get warranty claims, as we all know many things on these cars go bad and dealerships try and blame them on mods that have nothing to do with the cause of the problems.
I am about to use their shop for a DP/exhaust install and they are very reasonably priced and the shop had some very nice cars in it.
I have never heard anything bad about them either

Hey guys, this is Martin. Thanks for all your good feedback, to set the record straight for anybody who does not know me (especially the guy with only 3 posts) I left the dealership on my own; I was NOT fired, I was not doing shady things and the reason why I left was because MNC Performance was growing from side jobs to taking up most of my free time. I try my best to do what I do best, fix and modify BMWs.

I am 99% sure they are and I don't trust any other shop with my car! They are very reasonably priced compared to other shops.

Edit: I have had numerous things done by them.. Went completely full bolt on there, full brake job, other maintenance, etc and have always been happy.

Spark plugs replaced due to JB4 misfirings, brake pads, brake fluid flush, and power steering fluid flush all done by Martin at MNC Performance. Well worth the drive if you're in the 5 boroughs.

I wouldn't trust what a stealership has to say about any one of their ex-employees.
