Mounting tires on ICONZ 19 inch wheels?

Hello, my ICONZ 960s are scheduled to be dropped off by UPS today. THey have a 4.5 inch rear lip and 2.5 in front lip. A few years back when I had iforged senekas on my e46 M3, the lip sizes were pretty much the same. When I tried getting tires mounted on the iforged wheels, I literally went to about 25 tire places in my area, including NTB, STS, all the major tire shops and then a bunch of shops I just found that were not such large companies. I found a place in Philly that is going to mount and balance them for me this time around, but Im still a bit nervous as to them messing the wheels up while mounting the tires. When I went through this years ago, all the places I went to said they didnt want the liability mounting tires on expensive wheels like these, or they said they didnt have the proper equipment to do the job. The place I found in Philly ensures they can do this. DOes anyone have any tips as to what needs to be done in order to properly mount tires to wheels with large lips? Because Im sure Ill be standing there watching and giving my input when they are doing the job. So any advice here will be brought with me to the tire shop hopefully later today. thanks in advance everyone.

A few places that i have seen that usually mount tires on rims even one with a large lip like you are stating have the following tools.

Mounting Machine with Rubber/Plastic Head to properly insert tire over rim.

They have the following Plastic Hand Tools instead of the older Steel like crobars.

And also i have seen them put a ribber rim protector on side where mounting.

So i wouldnt worry much.

Hope that helps.

Whatever you do, PLEASE take pictures of the wheels before you hand them over and have the service writer sign off on the photos. I have had way too many bad experiences with who's to blame for some tiny scratches or scuffs or whatever. Some shops might take offense to this, but you wouldn't want to work with them anyway if they object.

You could tape up the lip too so they don't scratch.

Lip size has nothing to do with mounting a tire. It's still just a wheel and the process is the same as any other.

Did you try wheels america by the airport. Got my volk's powdercoated there. The good thing about them is IF they mess up, they have the means in shop to fix it all.
