Where In North Shore to get Hood/Trunk Installed?
Has anyone done it themselves and able to help? I don't even want to start swapping either and mess it up or get in a situation where I can't fix it. I'm far more confident swapping the hood than the trunk, but I would like to just do it right the first time and have everything fit properly without crazy gaps.
If no one has done it are there any shops around here that won't charge an arm and a leg for what should be a simple install? |

the hood is super easy, not worth paying IMO.
I did it 3x this month and it takes 10 minutes. its just 2 bolts on either side (one side has another one for a ground point, it was drivers side for me, USA) then you just swap over the center latch (2 torque scres) and the 2 corner latches (there is a plastic molding with a screw so the corner latches cannot spin around, but the carbon hood i got did not have the extra screw whole for this platic but so that is left out. the trunk i have not attemped, but hear it is a bit more work depending on which one youve got |

i would just suggest on the hood having a buddy around as once you take the hood struts off youll want someone to hold it off (to take the struts off there is a metal C clip that you just put a flathead screw driver under to release)
also if it is a carbon hood it will be too light for the OEM hood struts. apparently people use M3 ones as they are made for a lighter hood, i just used One of the OEM 335 instead of the 2, and it works out fine. Good luck, i have a carbon trunk coming for my Vert and i hope i will be able to install it myself |

yup,
which hood did you get. my first one which was a VIS GTR style was just a little too heavy for just one (it would hold it self up until a little wind came) modargains vented is perfectly fine FYI, the **********s did not come with the bulb head screw that the stut affixes too. i could not get mine off the OEM hood as it started to strip, but it was only $7 from the dealership. you may have better luck |

I ended up selling the trunk and I'm still working on selling the hood. Besides tint I just want to save my cash and just keep it clean and plain for now. I have to start saving up. The trunk was definitely more work than the hood to install, but nothing I'd say take to a shop, you can backyard install that thing.
The hood was a piece of cake. |
