6MT...What clutch are you using?

I am going to need a clutch soon, just added Procede and my stock clutch just can't handle it. What clutch do you guys or gals recommend?

I have the ACT with the stock DMFW. Pedal pressure is slightly more than stock.

Pros: you can reuse your stock FW as long as it was beaten to death, cost is $500, seems to hold my FBO+meth power without slip.

Cons: engagement point of the clutch is almost on the floor

If I could go back in time, would I redo it? Maybe. I'm not too fond of the engagement point. I tend to let the clutch out too early before I'm fully in gear (stock shifter). The clutch is great other than that.

I picked up the HPF Stage 2 and use it with my stock FW. More pricey, but I wanted to keep the stock engagement point.

I'm using the spec stage 3+ with the stock flywheel and it has been great. It can handle many launches without any changes in feel.

For stock turbo guys that want to keep similar drivability I would recommend the ACT street clutch.

For any more power its on a case by case basis.

Always need to either resurface or replace DMFW....... Have seen sme people get away with not doing it, but have seen plenty of people have a clutch fail very very quickly by not doing it.....

^^I agree, Replace it or resurface it. If you don't you are running a risk on screwing your brand new clutch.

I have a Clutchmasters FX100 and their Billet flywheel sitting in my garage waiting for a weekend to put it in.

I had ACT street on my 335i, i resurfaced the DMFW..

Engagement point was well near the floor like someone mentioned, I personally liked it a lot more than stock. Would go the same route if i had to again.

I have been very happy with my clutch. The testing time will be when I get my car back because that is when I will really test it.

That's the review I'm waiting to hear! A twin disk should have no problem. It's nice that there are members trying different clutch set-ups. It's the only way to know if the clutch works or not! Act and hpf have the clutch department locked. Lol!

I've had lightened flywheels on other cars and loved the difference. Is this the feeling u get with the n54 with stock turbos?! I'm sure this is the case with a big single!

Lightened flywheels chatter on idle too much though... if this was my daily i would not get a lightened FW.. just my 2 cents.
