Vishnu/FFTEC Single Turbo 335i on Inside Line!
Hey Everyone,
I've been hoping someone would post this all day. After waiting and waiting, i can constrain myself no longer. The Vishnu Single-Turbo 335i is featured on the front page of Inside Line right now!! Seems like it managed to put down some pretty awesome numbers despite lackluster testing conditions 0-60 - 4.1 (3.8 with rollout) 1/4 Mile - 11.5 @128.9 http://blogs.insideline.com/straight...35i-coupe.html Enjoy! It looks like there's going to be a separate dyno test coming in the next couple of weeks.

I believe the road surface was not ideal. The driver was having a hard time hooking up. The video is here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...bo+inside+line

Upgraded twins still hold the record at 11.10s
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqvZJk-68g4 With good track prep both upgraded twins and big single should be able to see high 10s though. |

Isn't anyone excited to see what the xi can do with the single turbo upgrade. If any 335 can cut 10's easily it should be the xi because of the ample traction.
Just have to wait and see what parts might go kaboom on it though. Maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised by the outcome. |

What do high trap speeds say with average 1/4 times, says not much traction in lower gears. |

- copy/paste... "They might need to hire someone new to weld the headers. Those collectors and flanges look like something I did back in University when I welded our team's exhaust together (after 1/2 an hour of TIG welding training). Pretty ghetto."

Hi guys,
As you saw in the video from Inside Line testing we posted a couple weeks ago, launching the car with stock suspension has proven to be a challenge. The best it did was a 60' time of 2.0-2.2s at Inside Line testing. But it was on bare pavement (not VHT prepped like a drag strip surface) so the 1.6-1.7s 60' required to run 10s wasn't going to happen. We have done quite a bit of suspension work in the last month with the hopes that it will hook properly. And by the looks of it, it should the next time it is out. Last week at sac, it ran 11.3s with a 2.0s 60' time. Obviously, it's got the power to run 10.8-10.9 with a good launch. Maybe better on a day that wasnt 80+ deg. We will see soon enough Also, the vbox run for the published run was 130mph. The best of the day was a bit over 133mph but the ET was slower since it spun through 2nd. Fwiw, they adjust the trap speed post testing to account for the practice to average mph over the last 66'. This drops nominal trap speeds by 2-3mph. On a cooler day, I'm not sure the car would be able to run a much higher trap since that speed approaches the speed limit in 4th gear and shifting into 5th isn't desirable yet. So all it boils down to is getting a decent launch (1.7s). Last edited by OpenFlash; 04-25-2012 at 10:36 AM.. |

I personally think sticking with the 3.08 will be better, as it gives room to improve the trap while still in 4th gear on the MT.

Some are probably from the BB community, so that's expected. The rest just don't realize the amount of time and work it took to build this. Most are probably youngin's thinking you can just slap on a single turbo and call it a day.

I agree. I bet most of these people are not familiar with the challenges the N54 poses. For instance the guy who says its not surprising to get 700whp from a turbo 6, people have been doing it for decades. Maybe on port, but never on DI.
