Any shop recommendations for 335xi downpipes install?

I just ordered a set of CP-E catless downpipes for my 335xi Several shops have quoted me insane amounts, like 7 hours of labor. I know its a tough job but I'd prefer not to an arm and a leg. Anyone have any recommendations on where to get them installed for cheap? I can't wait to get them in!

Did you already get a quote from CnC in Bellevue? I'm waiting for an official quote back from CnC in Bellevue for installing AR DP's on my 335i (and some other small stuff) - they aren't cheap, but over email he said it be an easy 1 day job _including_ the other stuff I asked them to do.

My buddy who installed them for me might be able to do it for you, probably would charge around $300. I have to double check with him though since the XI's are harder to install the downpipes on

That would be great! $300 is fair for install. Let me know what he says. Thanks!

I've heard that it should be a 2-3 hour job on a lift, dropping the subframe for our XIs. $700 seems like a rip-off.

I'd like to hear it after you r done tho. Trying to decide between DPs or oem performance exhaust.

DP's wont change the sound of the car only the exhaust will do that as chaning the mufflers is what changes the sound.

Are you doing it for more power or more sound? I hear that DPs bump HP and the BMW Perf exhaust does not. Fwiw

Not sure. I want more sound but like opening it up for the power gains. I'm thinking the AE exhaust so I get sound and some power, but $1,800 for the AE. However, I can do the install.

If I go with catless with DPs, $350-$800, but I pay $300ish in labor and have to look at the Idiot light all the time. But I get better sound and power.

If I go with the oem performance exhaust, $1,200 plus labor for someone else to cut the old pipes off and bolt the new on. And no extra power but great sound.

Geesh

I'd be more than happy to meet up with you and let you hear it after I get them installed. DP's do increase the sound and make the car sound a bit better.

I haven't yet. I'll give them a call though. What're you getting done there?

If you decide to go there, try talking to Ryan or Joel (I've always worked with Ryan, Joel's the owner but both are knowledgeable and pretty cool guys).

I'm having AR DP's installed, and then a some small cosmetic stuff: CF roundels, aluminum pedals, new HID fogs (one of mine is yellowing), and painting my wheel mounts (some rusting).

Give my friend Matt @ skyline tint shop a call.(206) 992 5370 He is the mechanic there and extremely good at welding. I was just in there the other day when he was working on an exhaust for an E55 which turned out awesome! He is more than qualified and his prices are very competitive. Worth calling him to ask. Tell him Tim @ autoarmor sent you

I noticed a change in sound when I had my catless dp's in. Mainly from the turbos though.

Back when I had my downpipes put in, I think it cost me around $250 for the installation. Someplace up in Marysville, I tried googling the place but I think they either moved or ran out of business.

make sure you have a dp fix as well, or else you're going to be throwing codes all day.
