Thumbs up Track Events for HorsepowerFreaks (PIR HPDE - May 7th and Import Face Off - May 27th)

We are bringing our HPF BEASTS to "two" events coming up and I wanted to let everyone know about them so you can come and participate or just come and watch.

The first is the Portland BMW Club HPDE at Portland International Raceway Monday May 7th. We will be bringing the HPF Orange Track M3 to this event. There are still a few spots left so sign up and participate.

http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.cfm/event/calendar

We are bringing the HPF Drag M3 to compete at the Import Face Off at Woodburn Drag Strip on May 27th. I'd love to get a bunch of BMWs competing at this event so mark it on your calendar.

Since this was posted in the n54 tuning forum, does that mean you're bringing a finished n54 single turbo car to the event?

Unfortunately not. Eric's finished N54 is shipping to him now but we don't plan on tracking it. We will most likely buy our own 335 for drag racing in the fall and will continue development on the 335i projects.

Chris.

Chris.
Which sucks, because I am going to pull the trigger on an upgraded turbo kit in the next month or two - and I was debating between yours and the RB Turbo's. But I called today and it seems that you guy's are quite a ways from a finished product.

Wouldn't this be better suited for the "Tracking/Autocross/Dragstrip/Driving" subforum? Or is this just a better subforum for a quick plug for the company?

Poor guy that gave HPF his car for 3 years. Since it's obvious HPF isn't going to sell a single turbo kit anytime soon, that kind of makes you feel they pieced his car together with a turbo kit just to get it back to him.

Oh well. Have fun with these events that I guess are suppose to involve n54s.

Chris,

I think we need to put something like this on the drag M3

More Pics: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?s...5982763&type=3

** Built in sprinkler system for dispersing water over the ice for max efficiency.

Self contained water/air unit with a pump on the backside.

IAT's in the 60's on a GTX42R running 8.8's on a 79 degree day through a 4 cylinder at 45 psi w/o Nitrous. We have another car that runs 8.3's with a similar setup.

Can a mod move this to Track events before HPF gets ripped apart for their single turbo fail?

Seeing that a company like HPF failed at making a single turbo kit for the 335i makes me gain that much more respect for Shiv and the Vishnu/FFTEC team... and I've never been a vishnu fanboy.

I don't get it, they built that drag beast, but they couldn't put together the single turbo N54!

Takes the place of the intercooler. Instead of having charge temps 30-40 above ambient you have charge temps under ambient. It's like have an intercooler wrapped in ice
