Replacing fog light bulb, help please.

Hey everyone,

I did a search of "Replacing fog light bulb" and nothing really helpful came up.

My current ride is a 2011 328xi and I want to change the yellow h8 fog light bulbs to a white h8. Any idea on how to get to the fog light unit? Do I need to take off the bumper to do this? I changed the low beams on my own by unscrewing the little cover in front of the wheels, but I didn't see a way to get to the fog light unit.

Thanks for any help!

Tom

Use a jack and remove the fender liners from the front halves of the wheel wells.

this is super easy bro... if u are doing the right side, turn the wheel to the left... take out the bottom 2 screws on the front most part of the wheel cover... i have average sized hands and i can fit my hand it there... shouldnt be a problem, however, the easiest way for me was jacking the car up first...

Is that the same wheel cover where you get to the lowbeams? I don't remember seeing any room to getting down to the foglights from that small hole.

You can just turn the wheels to one side and unscrew the fender liner for access. No need for a jack.

Is that the same process as the DIY guide above? I noticed that the guide was made prior to my year/make model.

I'm not home right now to check if my car has the same access point to the fog lights as the DIY guide. Maybe you guys can shed some light, and let me know if the 2011 model is the same in terms of access points to the fog light unit.

Thanks for all the help!

I did this today. Installed gp thunder 8500k's in like 15 minutes. No jacks needed. Just need to get an 8mm socket wrench and remove the screws holding the black plastic liner. Once you are able to peel it back the bulb is in plain sight and easy to change.
