Unable to get Weisslicht LED turn signals placed in my E92
Hello all,
I spent most of the day today trying to get these Weisslicht LED turn signals into my 2008 E92 335i. The first problem I encountered was that my car does NOT have the "access panel" in the wheel wells described on every single website and video you find when looking up how to change turn signals in these cars. I was a bit surprised by that, and ended up having to remove all the bolts to pry back the plastic to access the light housing. Once I got in there, the stock amber bulb removed easily, and the new Weisslicht product fit onto the "cap" as all the videos and guides suggested it would. When I attempted to put it back into the assembly with the new bulb mounted, it was absolutely not possible. I spent several hours trying to get this to work and had no luck. I then took it to my mechanic who also spent over an hour and couldn't get it to work either. The stock bulb fits back in with no effort whatsoever, so I know nothing is bent or broken. I realize the key here is lining the assembly up so it clicks slightly into place before trying to turn it. The mechanic knew that too. I find it hard to believe neither of us would be able to get it after hours of trying. I'm thinking there might be some issue with the bulb itself. Has anybody else had similar troubles? When I put the bulb in the hole by itself (not mounted to the base) it lit up and worked. I just can't get it in there mounted to the base, and there's no way to hold it in place without that. ![]() |

Patience my friend. Take the wheel off for more space.
But yes, you need to correctly align and twist the cap thing. Also MAKE SURE it sits tight. If not the moisture will get in and damage the servo that moves projector side to side. |

I honestly don't think it's just that. I had the front wheels off and the car lifted to shoulder height and it just wouldn't go on either side. Both of us tried for an extremely long time. I spent 4 or 5 hours working on it in the driveway then we spent nearly 2 hours trying it in the shop on the lift.
Only other option would be to take it to the dealership I guess
