Clean wheels..

I love a clean car, but the rims have to be clean...I think i have a mental thing going on in my brain...I have two cars so i don't drive my E93 everyday...but the days that i do after coming home i have to wash the rims immediatly because of all that brake dust which is driving me crazy...I own the car for 3 weeks, i must of wash my rim 16 times!!!!

glad to hear, you are the only one, I do the same too.
if I don't wash it, I would clean it with a towel to keep them in show room conditions.

Wax your rims brotha!! You'll be amazed at how much it helps. Plus you won't break your arm or back washing them cuz washing will become 100X easier. I recommend Poorboys Wheel Sealant. It's a life saver. You can thank me later or gimme your E93 haha.

i think we have a compulsive disorder of some kind...My wife abuses me for cleaning my car so often...I just can't help it...Can't wait till the aftermarket brake pads come out with less dust...Had it on my other cars and the compulsive disorder seemed to be tamed!!!! Bad thing is i don't know when these brake pad will come out for the E9x 's

Don't worry about the pads. It's all in the wax. The wax keeps the dust from sticking and makes it easier for road grime and break dust to come off.

I got a California wheel duster that I keep in the trunk. It is blue and forks in the center for spokes. I like the results. I use it while the car is filling up with fuel.

Wheel Sealant is the only product that touches my wheels other than automotive shampoo, water, and a dedicated wash mitt for my wheels. A lot of people think that it is designed to repel brake dust, but it is not. It provides a barrier of protection so that the brake dust does not embed in your wheels, it sticks to the layer of protection. Next time around during a wash, the contamination and brake dust comes off effortlessly. I reapply the wheel sealant every 2 - 3 months and usually twice a year I'll remove the wheels completely to give them a thorough polishing and seal the entire wheel, face, barrel, etc.

Definitely should cut down on your time cleaning your wheels significantly.

Belive me, i think we all need

.. LoL I had my car for a week and already wash my rims 6 out of 7 days. I also used wheel wax but I still need to have my rims dirt free

Plus, i have 197's which are a pain in the ass to clean but have gotten used to cleaning them.

the style 189 is also very easy to clean, wash and wax because they are 5 spokes

+10 on the PoorBoys wheel sealant. It is probably my favorite detailing product for its effectiveness and ease of use.

But it won't magically make your wheels not get dirty. To cut back as much as possible you'll need some low dust pads and the sealant. I reccomend Hawk HPS. They stop great and make very little dust. Don't think they are available for 335 fitment yet.

After each wash I out a little Zaino quick detailer on a MF towel and wipe it on each wheel. That seems to cut down on the dust that sticks and makes it easier to wash next time.

This week alone i cleaned my wheels 6 times....Damn when are those brake pads coming out with less dust...my hands are all bang and scraped up by the rotor blade covers...suckers are sharp!!! Hope Axxis comes out with them!

Couple questions. Where did you get the Cali Duster for the wheels? Do you have a problem using it on the rims after you get home and they're hot? I also agree on the wheel sealant, I've had it on the car for a few weeks and the dust comes right off. Like you all, I wash the car three to five times a week and do the rims daily. Thanks in advance for the info. George, do you carry the Cali duster for wheels?

What do you use to polish your wheels? Are you polishing wheels that have a clear coat on them? I would guess if your wheels had a clear coat, you would not be using the conventional wheel/aluminum/metal/etc. polish.

They haven't made the brake pads yet for the 335 models yet because of the larger brake rotors and calipers...I think its available for the 328 which has smaller brake system...Cost for the pads probably under 200 bucks but worth it for the pain of cleaning the rims so often...

Oh, my bad I didn't really read your thread

. You don't have to polish your rims. Unless you have some sweet chrome rims

. Otherwise the sealant and just normally washing them with soapy water is all that needs to be done.

No such thing for wheels that I know of. The wheel sealant isnt that hard to use anyways and well worth the time and effort.
