I really like the OEM 158 Winter's but...
They are so damn expensive! I suppose it would be wishfull thinking that there are replica's out there already for these (as seen in this link)
http://www.bmw.ca/accessories/produc...re_2005_en.pdf I ordered some Dunlop M3 RF from tirerack and figured I'd save some $$ on the package ($2900 CAD), however the dealer isn't really discounting much off the package (suggesting they have to buy the wheel and tire combined from BMW Canada that way). I may wind up giving back the Dunlops's (or selling them) and just getting the package. I don't really like any of the aftermarkets I've seen so far that fit (even ordered some M5 replica's, but after seeing them on a friends car in person I wasn't all that impressed). Any ideas? I also purchased a set of Dunlop M3 RF from tirerack.com. I had previously purchased a set of Style 158s from the BMW Store in Vancouver.
They 158s look great on the car and the Dunlops are very quite and smooth, even up to 140kph. You should either sell the Dunlops to your dealer (they can't buy them from the Canadian distributor for as good a price as you paid) and get the package or negotiate a discount on the 158s and mount the Dunlops. You should be able to get them for $499 each, list price is $623 each. My recollection is that BMW Canada is offering Bridgestone LM22 snows instead of Dunlop for the package. As you probably know, the Dunlops are the better rated tire. Good luck with your negotiations. |

Interesting, the 158's (albeit with Sport Tires on them) are the second cheapest upgrade tyre here. I have them on my car and I love them...easy to clean and they look HOT! Bigger than they actually are...
