What kind of quality paint job are you looking for? Any decent 2 stage with top tier paint materials is going to be a few thousand at least.
Or you can plastidip it for like 60 bucks lol. |

that depends. anywhere from $100 if you buy spray cans and paint it yourself... or up to like $10k if you go to a "brand name" shop which includes an extra few thousand for their name.

On m3forums there was a girl who repainted her E46 M3 like 4 times different colors. Looked great too and she spent about $4,000 each time.

You may need a good cutting compound and polish to bring the paint back to life. I'm a member of the e38 forums, whose years spanned from 1995 - 2001, and we RARELY see someone who repaints their entire car. Moral of the story: your car shouldn't need to be painted at this stage of its life.

Thnx guys! I just want to paint it with its original color schawrtz II. I live in Canada and after the winter there is a lot of gravel and dirt on the road wich get thrown at the car and in general the winter destroys the paint. It's my summer car so I want to make it look like new. I wouldn't consider any other colors other than its original schawrtzII

dude, plastidip is for hondas lol. Plus the stuff comes off when someone starts to peel it or if it starts peeling while driving down the road. I know i would never do an entire car because i did a set of wheels and it turned out great until the peeling began then it all came off.
paint job cost and information Just pay maaco like 2000 and you wont regret it. Everybody gives them a bad rap, but thats for the 400 paint job that is cheap. |

Get a really good detail job. Not like, Billy Joe Bob from down the block, but from an amazing detail place. See if that helps with swirls and some light scratches. If you do have scratches and nicks on the bumper, get it resprayed before you respray the entire car. And then get it clear bra'd. In fact, get the entire hood, front bumper, side skirts, clear bra'd if need be! Can we see pics of the car in question? Showing examples of the damage? |
