Wierd Sirius issue
Having a strange issue with my 2008 e92 idrive. On my SAT radio settings, channels 28 to 47 have disappeared under the "ALL CHANNELS" directory. But if I switch channels using my steering wheel, those missing channels come up. Also, i can find the missing channels if I search for them by category.
I've tried the hard reset (simultaneously pressing the volume and the two eject buttons) with no avail. Anyone run into this or have any suggestions? |

I have been experiencing a similar problem with my 2008 e93. Some of my presets will be completely gone when I start up my vehicle - they will also be completely missing from the play list. Then when I shut off my car and return say after lunch, all the missing presets will have returned. It seems like this cycle of disappearing and reappearing presets occurs approximately every other time that I start up the car.
What is even stranger is if I am listening to channel 38 (one of the channels that routinely disappears), shut off the car, and then come back and turn it on, the radio will still play channel 38. But if I then change the channel and then come right back to 38, it will be gone - not only from the preset but also from the playlist. Fortunately, I was able to reproduce all of these symptoms at the dealer last week. The service advisor was able to confirm for me that there is a service bulletin that applies to my problem. He made it sound like it was a more common issue on the 5-series, but that it also affects some of the 3-series. In any case, he says the fix involves having to hardwire or manually program the channels that I want on my preselects - I will have to provide them with a handwritten list of channels that I want on my preselects! Not sure I quite understood this, but it sounded like some sort of lame workaround. |
