Fuel Injector Cleaner

Does anyone know where I can buy fuel injector cleaner that goes directly into the engine as oppossed to the one that goes in the fuel tank. I went to AutoZone and PepBoys and nobody has it. Is this stuff still on the market?

Not for the 335i engine.

Just use Top Tier fuel. There's no reason to buy fuel injector cleaners from over the counter. In fact BMW just issued a memo to their dealers to don't even use fuel injector cleaners on the N54 engine. Wish I printed it out because it's no longer up anymore.

Besides, there is no fuel injector that goes into the engine. You must be talking about hooking it up into the fuel rail line... that won't work well on the N54.

Thanks for your response. I am actually looking to get it for my dad's vette. Someone had mentioned to get something that goes directly into the engine.

OK you're going to have to buy a tool that plugs into the fuel injector rail.. something like this Fuel Injector Cleaner System Tool or a a BG Inject-A-Flush Apparatus. Now this plugs into a fitting on the fuel injector rail which is somewhere on top of the engine or behind it.

thats what we use at work.. it comes in 3 cans. one can goes straight to the fuel rail fitting, the other goes in the intake system after the maf, and the other can goes in the gas tank....

definately not recommended on anything with direcct injection

The stuff you are talking about is Sea Foam. It is an intake cleaner not a fuel injector cleaner. The PVC systems on c4-6 corvettes can suck small amount of oil back into the intake. Normally it really doesn't matter but if you have NOS, Turbos or blower than this can cause knock. At under 500hp i don't think it make a big difference, though it does depend on alot of factors.

well, being U I wouldn't mess with those fine piezo fuel injectors. Those fluids are pretty agressive, now these PFIs are made with an insane precision. Imagine such an agressive fluid trying to "clean up" some seals inside of this really high pressure pump, which is not designed to handle anything else like fuel... a really expensive try to solve a non-existing issue... not to mention that it's not that difficult for the vendor (BMW or Siemens) to unveil the liquid reason for such an injector failure, so it won't be covered by warranty and could also void it for the whole engine...

(just my speculation, but read it carefully)
