less than a week with the new iforged... and one wobbles
i recieved my brand new iforged wheels last wednesday, got them installed and balanced, drove around all weekend no problem, they felt good, car drove smooth.... on sunday, me and my boys took a nice drive up to Mont Tremblant, anyway, on of my boys said that my rear passenger wheel wobbles.... so we traded cars for 4-5 kms, and i saw it wobbling... so we pulled over i took off the wheel, and everything was fine, so i put it back on, and it was still wobbling. its a little wobble, you dont feel it in the steering or in the drive, but u notice it when you look at the wheel turning. yesterday i got it re-balanced, and the same thing, it still wobbles....
do any of you have any idea of what it could be??? i dont really know what to do next??? let me know your ideas... thanks Anthony |

You could be missing a wheel weight..could have fallen off.

The lip is probably warped.I think they should fix or replace it.Those wheels arent cheap.good luck with everything.

If it's a problem with the wheel, whoever did the balancing should have noticed the wobbling and told you about it. This is usually how you find you have a slightly bent wheel.

If you cannot feel it, It's most likely NOT wobbling at all. Just an effect of the light on the spinning wheel I would say.
Have you taken a t-square and actually checked for a wobble with something other than your eyes? You could probably take it to a local tire shop/speed shop and ask them to have a look. I had a wheel a few years ago that always looked like it was wobbling. Drove me nuts for awhile cause after the shop checked it and said it's good to go and I checked it with a square? There was no measurable wobble... Just didn't make sense.

Hey Guys,
Seems like something could of happened during shipping or so. But good news is, Anthony and I have been talking, and I spoke with iForged and they are going to inspect the wheels just to make sure everything is ok, and to fix anything that could of happened on the way to Anthony in Montreal. |

Well, this happened AFTER the quality control team was in place right? I love the iforged product price, but what bothers me is one, how bad is their packaging that a wheel gets warped during shipping? Now montrealbimmer has to drive around with mismatched wheels until iforged figures out what happened AFTER the fact.
I dont want this to happen to me, I dont want to get my wheels, have them be warped, have iforged blame it on UPS, have to dismount them, take the tire off, find a wheel to drive around in the meantime and wait till iforged figures out the issue. Now if the wheel is a custom order 6-8 weeks, say it cant be fixed, so now i gotta roll around on mismatched wheels for another 2 friggen months!!! Are you joking me? I like Dan at modcity, but two other vendors I called from here said they have stopped selling iforged because of these quality issues. So its not anything against Dan, but I really don't want this scenario to happen to me. Its like the oil cooler on the 335's, sure bmw will stand behind their product, but do I want my car sitting at a dealer for 2 months until they figure out how ot fix it and get the part??? |

Turns out the wheel was not balanced correctly from the previous shop it was installed by. It was sent back to iForged, they checked it out, and put it on there machine, and thats when they came to the conclusion the wheel was not balanced by montreal_bimmer shop correctly. They rebalanced it properly and roadforced, and now his wheel is perfectly fine

Just goes to show it's not always the manufacture QC problems. I have never heard bad things from Iforged until I started reading these boards, the SVT forums think highly of them.. I can't wait to get mine in. Thanks for the update Dan.
