Interior Trim Vinyl Wrap - Brushed Black Metallic

Just finished wrapping my interior trim. Was deciding between a CF wrap or this 3M Brushed Black Metallic and thought I'd just try something different. First time vinyling and messed up a few times but I think it looks a lot better than the burl wood trim.

It looks a lot better in person but I tried my best taking the pictures.

Let me know what you think!

I agree. Good job man.

Did you remove the pieces before wrapping?

Thanks, and yeah, i just followed the DIY guide I found on the forum. I had a little trouble removing the center piece but it all worked out.

Looks great. I have a roll of the same stuff...but since I bought the IS I really had no need. I wrapped my XTerra trim with the CF and it looks pretty good.

How much did you buy? I am planning on ordering some for myself. Did you use heat gun and everything?

looks great. nicely done. thinking of changing the wood interior too. dont like the vinyl look and will most likely go with CF fabric.

I got a 3' x 5' roll and I have some leftover still. Just make sure you outline how you're going to cut it and make sure every piece has the same horizontal pattern. If you'd like, I can send you and outline I made for an e90 but if you mess up a the center dash or center piece, you won't have enough vinyl for another try.

Yup, I just used a heat gun.

Alright, I'll just attach it here in case anyone else is interested. I made the center piece a little too big so you can probably make it a bit smaller if you want.

Just make sure you clean the trim pieces well and make sure to use a heat gun or something (for those damn corners...what a PITA). But use the heat sparingly since you might burn a hole in the vinyl.

Oh also, if you're heating to stretch, don't pull on it while you heat it. Just heat it first, let it cool a little and then stretch it. I found that it stretches way too much even if you're holding the vinyl slightly.

Thanks!

Yeah, for me, I think it's a more subtle look compared to the CF vinyl which I thought might be too in your face lol.

Thanks, I actually have no idea how fabric looks, wonder if it's easier to work with than vinyl... hmm

i'm pretty sure it does since the only difference is the cutout for the controller that's located closer to the center of the console.

to the op: where did you buy the vinyl and did you use the 3m 94 primer?

Yes it should. I have no idea how the removal of the iDrive works but overall it'll work. Thanks

I bought the vinyl from autovinylsolutions and nope, didn't use 94 primer. I did some research on it and found majority don't really need the primer for the 1080 but need it for the dinoc. But I will probably get some primer in the future for the some exterior wrapping haha

Oh man, I really like this. I love my gloss black painted trim, but everything shows up (like black cars).

Thanks a lot for the diagram.

Let me ask you a question though, are those measurements also include the tuck that we make to put it on behind the pieces?
