335i, PROcede and G35 & G37
Hey guys i have a questions that i am wondering about. I've read kill stories but never quit got the answer.
Ok i have a 335i with PROcede and one day on the highway i saw a G35 that kept looking to race and needless to say i KILLED him. So here is my question. After my break in period i got my PROcede so i didn't have a change to race a g35 or any car for that matter. If i were to take the PROcede out, what is the amount by that a stock 335i can beat a g35 coupe?... Is is car length after 60mph is it 2 car length?.... With this talk about the new G37 comming out... Will one need the PROcede to beat it or will it hold it's own agains it? The reason why i ask is two reasons. 1, i was planning on selling my PROcede but i'm a bit scared to because i don't want to feel like my car is slow after i take it out. 2, I notice when i step on it, like in third gear or 4th, i notice a lag. I don't remember really feeling that lag before the PROcede. I tried many times while in 3rd gear, then i step on it and it goes a little fast then you feel the turbo's kick in. From what i can remember, there was no lag when my car was stock, or at least very minimal that i didn't notice, or effect in any way. 3rd reason why is i wouldn't mind 1,000 in my pocket to pay some bills. Anyway come someone please answer this for me. The distance of a G35 and the possibilities of racing a G37... I remember yesterday being behind a Volvo that was old and it said TURBO and COOLER in the back.. or oil cooler. Something cooler, and i said to my girl, babe that car has a turbo, but the thing about turbos back then is that when you step on it, the car goes, haaa........................HHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAA... . you could feel the lag. I sat in one of those volvo's before and when you step on it you could feel the lag. and then she goes....."doesn't your car do that in 3rd gear?".... And yes... yes it does....... I remember NOT wanting that on my car, and when i got my 335 i, i didn't feel it and that's exactly what i wanted... and since comming from a 325i (175hp) to a 335i coupe (300hp).... it was HUGE improvment. Now going from a 402lb of tq back to 2 hundered and eithety something lb's of tq... i think i will be a little dissapointed. Specially if i ever come across a cocky 335i owner with PROcede. My car will feel hella slow. When i got my 335i i felt it FAST, powerful, no lag... Everything a BMW is... now i feel it MORE powerfull because of PROcede... But i miss not having lag. I don't know what to do

Damn, I didn't even know you have the PROcede. Did you install it after the GSP meet?
Too bad, I don't know much about the G's to be of help with your question. In my opinion, I don't think that the PROcede will cause the car to have more turbo lag than stock. Hopefully somebody will chime in and answer your question.

1) If you've been driving your 335i with PROcede and you remove the PROcede, it WILL feel and it will be much slower. You may be very disappointed; but like anything, you will probably get used to a stock 335i again.
2) With that said, a stock 335i is still faster than a G35 from 0-60mph and 1/4 mi., but of course it will be a much closer race than with your PROcede 335i. 3) Based on initial auto mag comparos, a stock 335i will still be faster than a stock '08 G37 Coupe; however, again it will be a much closer race between the two cars unless you have the PRocede. A PROcede 335i should completely walk an '08 G37. 4) With the PROcede, you may notice just a little bit more lag, but still, it's hardly noticeable, imho. This occurs only b/c the PROcede increases boost and changes things...but I think +60+WHP/+90+ lb.-ft. RWTQ is a well worthwhile tradeoff! Why are you thinking of selling your PROcede anyway? Personally, I'd say keep the PROcede, but that's me. Good luck!

nice to see some board members using "hella". haha, but i see your from new jersey correct? as to your concerns, i think i remember reading somewhere that when the G37 was tested, it didn't feel quite as fast as the 335i. i think its the same article where the 335i overheated. can someone confirm this?

You will probably feel a huge difference when remove PROcede, but then again, you can put $1000 in your pocket and go with almost free "terry tuner" which is on e-bay for like $7.00 now (including shipping). Then you won't feel the difference that much as back to stock

thank you very much for your reponses guys.. ALL your responces were VERY helpfull... Here is my answer to your questions:
1) Yes i had the PROcede installed way before the GSP meet. 2)The reason why i wanted to sell it is because, i was happy with the power before the PROcede, My car stock can beat a G35 and after reading the reviews, the G37 will be slower than the 335i as well, i wouldn't mind $1,000 to pay off a credit card, I miss the very minimal turbo lag if any lag. Before the PROcede i felt the car had almost no lag. 3)yeah i just finished reading that review and they tested with a 335i AUTOMATIC with NO intercooler...... I have a MANUAL TRANSMISSION with intercooler. I don't feel the need to race anyone. I'm happy with my car. To tell you the truth the only car OUT there i feel i have to hold the NAME of BMW is those infinity G35 owners... They are always trying to test me... And it WOULD suck to see a new G37 with a cocky driver whipping my stock 335i and he paid 32,000 and i paid 46k... I feel that even though there is NO competition between infinities G's and BMW, there are always reviews on G35 VS 328i COUPE!!! or G37 vs the old 335I.... SPEED, luxury, power, safety.. it's like they are always going at it... And the 1 race i had was excellent.. .Their was almost no traffic and the G35 was flying behind me on the left and he to fly past me on the left when he was about 2 car behind lenth, i slapped it into 3rd and went.. then he was on my tail as there was a little traffic and it was switching lanes and changing gears, it was awsome! In the end the road was clear and i RAPED!!! him... then slowed down and exited... that was that.. i was wondering if i was stock how it would of went... and if he had a G37 and my car was stock... I don't know, i love the PROcede but i really don't NEED the power.. unles i want to get a speeding ticket.. I mean i think 300hp is fast and the little turbo lag was awsome.. I don't know Tell you guys the truth, i want to get the new M3, but that car will not be out untill next year.. by then my car value will lower and my payments will be higher. I currently owe 28,000 on my 46K car... By the time the M3 comes out, I will proably owe 22000, and they will give me 36,000... meaning 36000-22000=14000.... 14,000 on a possible 60K car i will take a loan for 45,000... meaning instead of paying 632 dollars a month I will pay over 1G... and i want to own it not lease it... Don't know what to do.. I always wanted to own a M....

Terry Tuner?... NO WAY man... lol... I'm cool. I trust Shiv and his work, that is why i have had ZERO problems with his product. Again this has nothing to due with the quality of his service and product.. he is awsome and his product :rocks:. But no i will not go towards Active works, terry or any other.

A G37 is a full second slower? I thought the G37 did the 1/4 mile in 13.8. I don't know of a single 335 that has run a 12.8 stock with RFT's. From a roll the 335 will win hands down, but from a standing start I don't think the difference would be that big as long as both are running the 6 speed manual.

I almost bought the infiniti....until I drove the 335i. Yes you can spank them PROcede or not...but think about the difference in quality. The leather and materials used in those infiniti's are terrible. It looks ok brand new....but you can see it will wear faster and look like crap in a year. Not to mention the reputation of engineering excellence that BMW has.
Those infiniti's blow....bottom line. ps...Shiv and Calvin....Where's my procede...how about a tracking #???

yeah regarging my bmw purchase i can't be more happy. My family and I have always trusted BMW and we are happy. So happy of bmw i got my girlfriend into buying her own bimmer and she did.
Ok so Bimmer will whip both. Nice.. Well i'll take out the proceed when my car goes in for service (7,500miles and idrive upgrade)... I'll keep it off for a week or so.. if i am not satisfied i'll put it back in.. if i can deal with the car then i'll just sell the PROcede.

as for the M3... the talk about it being 65,000... out of my budget for the moment, so i'll just wait a couple of years and get it down the line.

65 or higher for the first year at least. The first year markup sucks on the M. I'll wait for the second or 3rd year, so the price can settle and the bugs can be worked out.
