Do the military ranks quoted in the avatars signify the number of posts submitted or can I promote myself if I wish. Its just that I have always fancied being a rear gunner.LOL.

No it's number of posts.

User CP - Edit Your Details

if you leave it - it will default to one of the ranks depending on your number of posts.

Ok, zltm089. I averaged one post per month for the last two and a half years. I am 75, so how old will I be when I am a two star Major General ? This begs the question what rank will you be ? Darth Vader Mk2 ?. Just a bit of fun, whoops that is two posts this month.
