Can't take it anymore!
About a year ago I purchased some some (OEM Plastic) M3 style side skirts for E92 335i from a vendor on a particular forum.
The vendor confirmed that fitment was 100% and they were a straight bolt on. Trusting the vendor I assumed they would fit like an OEM part and no custom work was required, so the best option was to have them painted and fitted by BMW's bodyshop (Brisbane lacks bodyshops that I trust). When I picked up the car they told me they had problems fitting the side skirts. The rear section of the skirts were 'acceptable' but the front section in front of the door did not line up properly and stuck out about 8-10mm from the body! I contacted the vendor and he tried to make me feel like an idiot for taking a 100% fitment straight bolt-on item to BMW's bodyshop... And then sent me photos of skirts on another car which didn't even fit 100% although they sat better than the ones that were now fitted to my car... No other solution was offered by the vendor. I left it at that since I had already paid to have them painted and fitted and drove around with side skirts hanging off the body of my car for a year which visually could only be compared to a morbidly obese woman at a female bodybuilding contest. ![]() I took the car to one of Brisbane's most 'reputable' bodykit shops they removed the skirts to inspect the problem. I was advised that the skirts don't fit properly because it is in contact with bolts, washers and brackets that are part of the front fender assembly... The only solution is to grind off part of that assembly or the inside part of the side skirts. Obviously I'm not grinding off any part of my car for some poorly made side skirts... and grinding off part of the inside of the skirt would leave the spots very thin and if they still did not fit correctly would allow the brackets and bolts to puncture through the skirts. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I'm sick of everyone saying "WOW nice car... hey, WTF happened to your sideskirts?" ![]() |

Every other part is genuine but I thought since they were 100% fit then it should fit well... Won't be buying aftermarket again!
Probably have them ground down if they puncture then I'll just have to put msports on. Thanks guys |

Having the same issue too with the M3 rep side skirts being 'too short' and sticks out abit at the front too. Bloody annoying.
Strange thing is pictures from the US vendors & customers shows perfect fitment. Maybe I should order another set from them instead of local suppliers. |

Speaking of LTBMW...I pm'ed them earlier and asked for a quote for the skirts. They have 2 types: M3 rep ones & OEM M3 modified for E92. Both are supposedly 100% fitment too. Will let you guys know once I hear from them. Hopefully they guarantee a refund if fitment sucks like the local ones.
