Tuned 335 with no oil cooler
I have an e92 335xi with Cobb stage 1 aggressive. I haven't had any oil temp issues yet, but summer isn't quite here yet. I want to add an oil cooler, but it seems like I need to buy the oem retrofit kit before I can upgrade. I plan to track my car in august and I suspect if I don't upgrade, I will join the limp mode party. Are there any after market kits that I won't need the oem retrofit for? Any comments/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

If you are tuned and going to track your car with no oil cooler you will limp for sure. You can try and go the DIY route like this guy:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=464276 You will need a new oil filter housing and thermostat. Also, you are going to need a bracket for said oil cooler and I think Dinan makes it. If you source all the parts it will be over 1k for sure. |
