Sorry but it doesn't look like the CPO covers the clutch for MT cars. ACT or SPEC are good choices to go with.

FYI towne bmw has covered it for other 335 owners, 1 time only kinda thing. But why not just upgrade it now? ACT clutch is not that much money, just had mine installed last week.

I asked my dealer and they quoted me something like $800 for a tear down deposit. If it shows signs of abuse, my $800 goes towards labor for a new clutch at $2500. Or they keep the $800 and I tow it away. Pretty shitty. Mine didn't actually go out. I just asked the question when it came to what the warranty covered.

Act clutch, all parts and labor shouldn't cost more that $1300 at an Indy shop.

I don't get if your paying 2500$ what difference it makes to bmw if it was abused or not, if it was going to be repaired under warranty id understand them refusing to fix it if abused. Get it done at a qualified Indy shop

Either that, or have it resurfaced.

The difference is that if it is abused, then you pay full price for a clutch and labor. If its not abused, its a warranty replacement and you get your deposit back.

ACT clutch is about $500 for the clutch and around another $500 for install. You can reuse/resurface your flywheel as long as it wasn't beaten to death.

I have the ACT clutch and I will tell you what the shittiest part about it is. The clutch engagement point is literally 0.5-1 inch from the floor. It makes it tough to drag race and you'll sometimes grind it because on quick shifts you will have the clutch engaged before you have the super long throw of the stock shifter in gear. If you can deal with this, then it is a great clutch. I'm FBO+meth daily driving on drag radials NT555R and the clutch hooks up without issue, other than what was stated before.

wow that's kind of shitty, any other clutches that dont do that? I am running a e85 blend mix at 17psi, so I am pushing a lot out of the OEM clutch.

Unfortunately, you don't have many options. From what i know there is Spec, ACT, Clutch Masters, and HPF. Here are my opinions on each: My bro and a lot of other people got screwed by Spec, everything was installer error. Shiv has had good experience with them so maybe not all. I'd never recommend them tho. ACT - I already explained, everything good except the super low engagement point. CM - heard good things, but expensive. Stage 1 is good, the other option is Stage 3 but that is Kevlar, which is a no no for drag racing. HPF - heard great things but super duper expensive.

Yeah I am looking at the HPF but $1200+ is kind of steep! I might be able to deal with the ACT clutch.

What did you do with your flywheel? did you get it resurfaced or replace it?

Mine was actually in great shape, so didn't even resurface (I wouldn't recommend it tho). Still holding strong after 6 months.

No.

The ACT engages low to the floor, but will get better with some time. the disk on ACT is thicker than stock so i believe this is why it engages lower than normal. Mine after about 600 miles started releasing a tad bit higher, but nowhere near stock.
As for the flywheel I had mine resurfaced as well which only cost about $60. So far I love my ACT, it holds the power nicely!!!!

And if you going to be down there do the CDV delete!!!! Makes all the difference in the world!

Agreed, the act engages low compared to stock and the pedal pressure is much more than stock, I am starting to get used to it, either that or my left leg is getting stronger

Only have a couple hundered miles on mine, but everything is good thus far.
