A long drive + servicing
Planning a 5,500 mile round trip driving holiday to the Arctic Circle this year.
Service indicator in the car says 4,000 miles to next service. Will be doing another 1,000 miles of driving before the holiday. That means if I leave the service until I get back, it will be 2,500 miles overdue. Any ideas? I'm inclinded to just leave it to 2,500 miles overdue BUT I have seen a photograph of somebodys on-board compter display which said "No Engine Start Possible in 1,000 Miles" I can't remember what the reason for that warning was or if it was servicing related or a fault which caused it, but I don't want to be in the Arctic Circle and can't start the engine. |

Making that sort of trip with just 3,000 miles to servicing, I'd definitely be opting to bring the service forward. Always better to be ahead than overdue anyway, and for peace of mind.

As you have such a long trip planned wouldn't it be a good idea to have the car serviced for peace of mind?

Another vote for before - BMW assist may not come out to you at the Arctic Circle!

I'd go for the before option.
Just on a side note. Cooper BMW York had a car in recently that was 14,000 miles overdue for its service. |

OK get it done it is.
The only reason I was thinking is I paid for the "Service Inclusive" package and wasn't sure if they would service it before the due mileage. But I called BMW and it seems they will |
