What type of tires do you plan on running during the winter? I use dedicated snow tires during the winter on my 335i BridgeStone Blizzak WS60 and they handled the snow/wetness pretty well this past winter. The rest of the driving experience (handling, speed, acceleration) aside from the handling of the weather conditions was pretty much the same for me as it was during the dry weather months.

I'm speaking from the perspective of a 335i Sedan though. Are there any other convertible drivers in Chicago that can throw in their 2 cents?

Driving in the winter is no problem as long as you have a good set of snow tires.

I'd be down, well I would get snow tired but I bought that package that covers flat tires for 2 years so I'm pretty sure you can't change the tires or rims with that...

I'm pretty sure it covers whatever wheels and tires you have on the car at the time.

IDK if it covers any but certainly, swapping to winters won't void your warranty. they may not be covered however....

At any rate, you'd risk losing control of your $50k vehicle to save your tire warranty? Does that make sense?

I have the wheel and tire insurance....covers both my aftermarket wheels and tires! Only thing is, it will only cover up to but not exceeding what OEM wheels/tires came on the car originally.

You obviously have a problem with something. And it was supposed to be "cheesy". Nobody talks like that anymore. Simple answer to simple question to a place with virtually all Chicago members. And the mods aren't "all over it" because there's nothing wrong with it. I'm not trying to drive people away from e90post. They're very different forums.

I didn't have a problem with the forum you posted. I have a problem with the action you took in promoting it. I don't choose to go on that forum for the simple reason that there is more than enough activity here on this section, especially the Chicagoland Chat Thread than I can consume anyway. Plus all my friends are here already anyway...and the mods have never really given me any problems.

As far as commenting on my vocabulary choice, that makes you and your forum sound super welcoming...sign me up! If you wanted to send him a PM, fine but putting it there like that is like promoting another vendor on one vendor's thread. Its not that we can't talk about other forums, we do. Hey, did you see this on there? Did you know that Brian's over here? But that is different than saying what you said.

But that is simply my opinion, and obviously at least one member concurred. It ain't easy being cheezy!

Wow, way to demonstrate that you actually may have some self confidence issues. Lets clear some things up.

1. I didn't attack you at all and I wasn't commenting on your vocabulary choice, I was commenting on my own when I said stop on by. That's why I said it was supposed to be cheesy, because no one talks that way, as in no one says "stop on by" because it sounds, well, I don't know, kind of pokey.. You can go ahead and remove your foot from your mouth. Here, let me get you a really big shoehorn.

2. No disrespect, but I don't really care where you and your friends are signed up. Nor does anyone care where my friends and I are signed up. The original poster asked about people from Chicago, I answered his question. Again, I've read the forum rules, have you? This isn't about vendors. We're ALL a community. You must be on the younger side, considering how you view this all as a "us vs them" (*or at least you're acting like it). Talking about other forums and saying "did you see this person over there" is absolutely no different than mentioning another forum. Its all mentioning another forum. Who cares. And its not mine. Unfortunately, I'm not very active there right now because most of "my friends" aren't anymore either, but I'd like to get more active, just hard to make time. FYI, I've spent a whole lot more time here recently, but I don't "like" any one forum more than another. Oh, and hence the "stop on by" as in: stop by but we'll see you back here real soon. Its an old saying, that I'm sure you'll find cheesy. Forums aren't mutually exclusive, only someone with a problem views people and places like that.

I didn't appreciate your "bush league" comment. If you'd like to really go through the forum rules, that would be a personal attack that you conducted without any provocation (ie: first). And I guarantee I've been messing with BMW's and contributing to BMW forums of all kinds long before you had your first.

You have a good day now.
