Feel your pain..................mine went last month lol!
The original is a siemens and the new one is a continental which i believe should be more reliable. Mine went at 140k miles though which is more than acceptable. |

130k 06 325xi yeah mine was at 130k i cant complain. a mechanical waterpump woulda failed sooner and should have replaced sooner. didnt even notice the brand either when i was changing it. i noticed they redesigned the thermostat/housing though. fairly easy to change as well. |

notice anything before it went out? any warning signs? 130k is alot on the original waterpump, that is really good to hear. Not so much fun to fix

Mine went out a couple of weeks ago and the most disturbing thing to me was that the replacement didn't even make it off the lot. They had to order another one and it seems OK so far.

that sucks. a few days and i seem to be ok. no codes or flashing light. i changed everything to try to try to eliminate any issues in the future. i dont want to have to do a headgasket. |

and bmw pockets are bulging.i must say i am a fan of the electric waterpump now though. its a much easier install than a normal mechanical pump. plus you dont have to run it to bleed air out. |

It was 103 degrees that day, July 3rd 2010. I was out of warranty, went over 4 years. $500 in parts from Tischer and $300 labor at an Indy shop. It's a 325 N52 so that is probably the most maintenance I'll have to do; don't have to worry about fuel pumps and turbos. Low and slow is how I roll

i replaced my water pump last week. Overall cost 550. 450 for the pump/bolts. 50 for lift charge and 4 hours of self labor. Overall its not that bad execpt that the top bolt is a bitch to get to.. also as the bmw states the bolts are one-time use.. i had a bolt break in my hand while screwing it back. thank god I got the broken part out by un-screwing it out by hand....

Mine went ~3 weeks ago. 76K covered under BMW CPO warranty. I however can comment that I had a low coolant light a few months back and just topped it off. Anyone else experience this and then have a water pump fail?
