Oil change with an oil cooler
So I have an oil cooler now on my N52 (Stett stage 2) and I noticed there is no drain plug on the core. So, if I perform a normal oil change using the oil pan drain plug the oil in the cooler lines and core will not get drained. I asked a tech about how they do it with a stock oil cooler on the N54 and they said the procedure is the same on cars with or without the oil cooler. So the dirty oil just sits in the cooler then gets mixed with the new oil when the thermostat opens. Am I missing something? Is it really OK to have the dirty oil just mix with the new stuff? There is quite a bit of oil in this core since it's so large.
