Tracking devices
Guys,
I know that a few of you have tracking units fitted. I'm looking at it for the new motor and was just wondering what you've got fitted and what sort of cost it was. Feel free to PM if you don't want to broadcast details.

Matt,
I too have this dilemma. Dealer is offering the basic Tracker system for £399 + the £125 annual subscription. I have checked out RAC Trackstar and this comes in a bit cheaper at £299 is also GPS based, where the Tracker (basic) isnt and also you can pay subscription monthly (£10). I am in a quandry here, I dont want to scrimp and save having shelled out a vast some for my new car but the list of potential 'extras' is long and expensive: - GAP - Cheapest I have seen is Hitachi - Tyre Ins (?) £159 AA poilcy - Detailing - dealer or otherwise is £200 + unless you do it yourself - Tracker - as above oh, and I didnt specify mats in my order so thats another £75, and there is a new car insurance policy that I now need, having just cancelled the old one! I suppose it is all about your individual attitude to risk when it comes to extra Insurance and Tracker, I, like you, have a few weeks to consider this! |

Around £300 to fit plus £350 lifetime subscription (expenses) To be honest I'm really not sure of the value of these systems - unless it reduces your insurance premium or you have a 'unique' car. If not GAP insurance may be the better buy. |

If it doesn't then that suggests that the insurers don't see it as worthwhile either. |
