Hot or not
I just wanted to ask guys, how hot is does your engine bay feel after a drive?
I drove mine for an hour, getting lost around HK. Parked up and open the bonnet to check out whats under the hood and my god! I swear I could roast a sausage in mid air. Is it normal to have this blast of heat ? Even the turrets and the outside fenders were hot! Cheers, BMW |

I had some bird shit on the hood after a drive so i used a wet towel to wipe it off. As soon as i wiped it off you could see condensation and hear very faint sizzling sounds on the hood. haha so the answer to your question is yes =)

Crack open an egg and let it drop on your hood after your engine has been running for a while and see the results. Do you want fried eggs with your BMW?
Of course, it's not so good for the paint on your hood... |

Try turning off the A/C. That will cool it down a bit but the passengers might be the one roasted.

The working temp of the engine in a 335 should be 120C. It's normal for it to be at that temp after 45mins. You need to get it checked if you're getting limp mode. |

Well some BMWs are known for premature water pump failures and other coolant-related problems. Although those kind of issues usually pop-up only after 100,000+ km. Best you take it to the garage for a check-up. |

Did that code trick to get the temp on the cluster,it runs between 99C and 105C. Thought was hot but it seems not according to your's. But recently had an oil change (Full syn 5-30) Maybe that has something to do with it

Yes,it's complicated but once you know how to do it,it's easy. Think you find out how on Youtube. It's all about holding you mileage reset button in for about 15 seconds. A yellow triangle will appear, keep holding, two letters and four number will appear, write these down and add the number up. mine came to 15.. OK. Hold in again then go to 19,release and wait,it will say lock on,. enter the number that you got from adding the number up,this will unlock then you go to number seven, that's the engine temp, will stay on while you're driving. There's quite a few things you can do,number 1 is K1 TEST. let this activate and every light on your dash will come on and all the needles will move, this calibrates your speedo and checks all light components, clever stuff. It sounds awkward but it isn't.
