brake pads: Do i have to replace all 4 at once?
so my car is asking for service. I think its brake service from the googling i've done.
if it is a brake pad replacement, Can i only replace 2 of the pads. I checked all 4 brake pads and the front have very little pads left(around 2mm?) while the rears are still pretty thick, around 20mm is it ok to change just the fronts? or do i have to change all 4 at once. sorry no manual here but anyway this is the symbol: |

oh its brake fluid?
if it's under the maintenance(due date is june 2012 according to my car's memory), is it brake fluid change/flush or break fluid top up?. i downloaded an e90 service symbols guide but the above attached image was not in the symbol guide |

For a second I thought it was some fake tanned guy throwing his hand up in the air, but answering your question its time to change your brake fluid.

If you're out of warranty take your car to an indy shop and ask them to check the overall condition of your brakes. Then go get a 2nd opinion/estimate from another indy. Come back here with results and we'll provide some useful feedback.

My dealer charges $150. And if you need front brakes, there is no need to do the rears until they are worn. Tom |
