$70,000 for a new car. Now what

OT is boring and so is this topic - but I have had unfortunate circumstances and someone very close to me in my family has passed. I have been saving for a new car and now it's time to purchase due to that.

I don't want to spend more than 70k.

Any suggestions on what to get? I don't mind going CPO.
  • It must be a vert, no hate.
  • 300+ HP
  • Coupe
  • If possible, need all wheel drive for winter driving.
  • Will be a daily driven car
  • obviously going to be 6MT
  • No Mercedes

Ideas so far:
M3
S5
Porsche - I am not familiar enough for what to get, but would consider

Sorry, let me refresh my browser, I don't see a car suggestion in this.

I moved back east and am without a vehicle for my commute - I need a car.

I test drove a S5 the other week. Possibly the most disappointing thing I've ever driven. Gorgeous though.

I say M3 or a clean used Z06 vette (albeit not very practical, but then again, when is a vert practical)

I've heard mixed reviews of the S5, too. When I had my 328i I've always wished it was a vert.

I'd suggest maybe spend 50k on a used M3 or Porsche and invest the rest.

If I'm not mistaken, the Z06 is hardtop only.

I don't know of ANY mustang that costs 70k, but the GT 500 MSRP is 54k and is the fawkn bizness. Plus you'll have about 10k left over for hookers and blow.

Not really.

It's 54k$ without tax, registration, and mark up. The new gt will have 10k$ markup atleast. At the end it will cost 70$k

2010 msport 335xi, few mods, invest the rest.

I'd wait for a nicer car til you can afford to keep it garaged over the winter, though given this past winter, you'd probably get away with an M3 or C4S no problem.
