I have dark burl wood trim. What's a safe way to clean it? I've normally used lysol wipes on my other cars, but somehow this doesn't seem save to use on wood vernier

Damp soft MF towel with warm water or any interior cleaner ( I like DP interior cleaner myself but !Z cockpit is great as well).
They're clear coated so hypohetically anything with alcohol,if left on long enough and done enough times that way, could make the clear fail. It's a real long shot but again hypothetically speaking.

I've had good luck with Armor All cleaning wipes followed by a good buffing with a micro fiber towel. One a side note: I've noticed that the wood grain in my friends 07 E90 looks faded compared to mine. Has anyone else come across this? And yes, we both have the light burl walnut trim.

Iz Cockpit is a better choice as it’s safe for this type of finish and also contains UV protection.

Alcohol WILL eventually cause the finish to dry out, crack and fail requiring replacement
