Dynavin D99 installed in Logic7 Car.

Had my Dynavin D99 installed in my Logic7 car by Mike at Prime Motoring in East Rutherford NJ.

He did a pretty kick ass job. I was worried that it would be a nightmare after reading some posts and talking to a few people but Mike pulled it off without a hiccup.

You will need some additional parts to run the D99 with a Logic7 car (JBL MS8 amp and small amp for the underseat subs) but it's totally possible.

I also had him install a reverse camera.

I'll give a brief review of the D99. I haven't played with it that much but enough to have an opinion. For an aftermarket unit, it's great. The navigation is good, the voice is clear and the maps look pretty cool. It integrates quite well as far as look and feel. People who do not know better would probably assume it is a factory navigation.

Ipod controls all work through the steering wheel as they should, the artist and song info is displayed on the head unit along with some fake cover art. The touch screen is great but it's a little hard to input an address while you're driving (not that you should do that anyway I guess..)

The only thing I really do not like about the system is depending on if you have tinted windows or not, you will get some glare on a sunny day. With tinted windows it's not bad.

After all is said and done, I paid way less than a navigation retrofit and while nothing compares to a factory navigation, this does the job.

If anyone has any questions or wants pics, feel free to ask.

I will un-fail the thread..

The trunk pic is just to show that the install is clean, no visible amps/wires.

I put the camera up high so it looks more drastic in that pic than it does when you're sitting in the car. You really don't notice it at all.

Did you retain the factory chimes for seat belt, key etc? also did he move the oem radio to trunk of center console? just in case you need to update car's software. Looks great.

Retained factory chimes (key/seatbelt/etc). Radio is not relocated to the trunk. If I need to put it back to stock all the stock connectors are there for the amp and factory head unit.

It can probably be returned back to stock in 45 minutes the event I need to have a software update.

Mike just tapped into the rear amp wiring harness, nothing was cut. Since the factory clip is there the amp could easily be removed and the factory one replaced.

The D99 comes out in 5 minutes and 10 minutes to put the OEM unit back in.

Bluetooth works good, if you turn the volume up too loud the person on the call will hear their own voice but I didn't find that I needed to turn the volume up loud at all, I was just testing

Bluetooth will connect automatically however I noticed that sometimes I have to click on the connect button on my htc thunderbolt. I have not tried other phones yet.

Parts list? As far as what parts are needed to do the install?

Well.. You need a JBL MS8 amp, a 2 channel amp for the subs, RCA's run from the head unit to the amps.

You also need to tap into the factory wiring harness (at amp location) to wire in the JBL MS8, so you will need some sort of schematic in order to know what's going on. There are a lot of wires.

I'm sure I'm forgetting something else, as I did not do the install. Mike has serious car audio experience on top of his mechanical ability so I figured I'd leave it to him since he has experience installing aftermarket HU's in Logic7 cars.
