Enabling Apps in '09 E90

Hey all,

So I'm still new as I just got my car a few days ago. I did a bit of searching and couldnt find an answer to this question.

Can I enable the use of apps on my '09 E90? I downloaded the BMW Connect app on my iphone, and I have the iphone cradle built in to the car.

What can I do to use this function!?!?

Thanks!

Thanks,
You need to search... I posted the OEM retrofit instructions and several notes of the Combox install/swap in this forum.

There are 2 aspects to this upgrade: the hardware (Combox and wiring), and software. Even if you are able to install the hardware, you still have the issue of getting the proper software, which is much more than a simple coding job. You'll need someone with the proper software and cabling to upgrade/update your car.

If you follow Technic's suggestion and find his threads, you'll discover one of the vendors on the forum that offer this upgrade: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ght=combox+6nr

Be sure to email Patryk at the email address supplied in that thread. He'll hook you up.

I installed a Combox from BimmerTech myself and had the reprogramming done by a local shop recommended by BimmerTech. Ultimately, it is not a difficult project. You have to be willing to cough up a few bucks though. It is not a cheap upgrade but it is not overly expansive either.
