N55 JB3 Question

Hi all. My car is at the dealership getting serviced, and I am getting my driver side mirror replaced due to the fact that it squeaks incredibly loud when folding in or out. I am also getting the latest software update as part of the service. I was told my by SA that the side view mirror will need programming to install. I just bought a JB3 from a user on the forum, and was told that it was updated with the latest firmware. Should I be worried about installing the JB3 and having it conflict somehow with the latest BMW software or the programming that is done on the car for the mirror? Thanks

I would worry about if a JB3 can be used on a N55.

A tune designed for a N54 motor will not function properly on a N55. You need to check on the Burger site before you try to install it.

This is what they offfer for the N55. "N55 Stage 1 BMW Performance Mapping Exclusively for the BMW 2011+ BMW 135, 335, 535, 535xi, X5, X6 & 2010+ BMW 535i GT N55 Motors".

Sorry for the confusion but that's what I purchased I thought it was just known as the jb3 for the n55.

Then you are good to go.....Not a good plan to have it on the car when going in for an update. If they have an issue loading the software they might decide to look around in the ECU box & mark your car with a mod.

Once they are done plug it in & enjoy, it will not effect your new software.

Don't have the tune in the car when you take it in for service.

Ok thank you! Yeah the tune hasn't come yet but I was just worried that the new bmw software coupled with the programming that is going to be done for the new side view mirror would somehow mess with the tune, but i guess since it's updated to the latest firmware im good to go! Thanks all.
