Old Tischer Performance Shock Kit
I just dug out the old Tischer Performance Shock Kit I ordered over a year ago...The part number is #33500429574
I'm ready to install them now, but not too sure what springs to pair them up with. I have a 2008 328i non-sport E90 sedan with manual transmission. Has anyone paired these shocks up with non-oem springs (Eibach, H&R, etc)? If I wanted to go 100% OEM, I keep seeing references to D4, D5, D6 springs? Which springs are for which car? Thanks guys! |

get either a set of sport springs from a car similar to yours that has the ZSP option (to have the Dx you need), or go aftermarket (I wouldn't recommend eibachs), or if you can source a set of BMW perf springs from the v2 kit you will be amazed - that was I have and feel it's a really great match.

If you want to keep it OEM, stick with ZSP springs, otherwise EPK springs (which have a similar spring rate to the ZSP springs albeit slighty stiffer) are the recommended springs with these shocks. I paired mine with EPK springs because I wanted a lower stance.

Same Kit Here
On ZSP -- have installed the rears and still debating on diy installation on the fronts.
. Car has 70k miles --- so far the new rear struts really firmed up the ride but a little bouncy over bridges / expansion hwy joints. . . Kit has all the bstops / sleeves and fasteners needed to do the job right. |

Nope. OP has the 'old' V1 kit that came with taller, firmer bumpstops designed to be used with oe sport springs.

Ok, thanks for the correction, I was under the impression the bumpstops were shorter even on the old V1 kit.

At 65k the car is getting sloppy on original shock/struts.

I'd say more than slightly firmer, maybe "definitely firmer" though very tolerable for daily driving. I think you will like the change with the V1 kit, especially if you're sport shocks are worn. |

I had 'newer' Bilstein Sports on my previous 95 M3 and loved and lived with the firm ride.

just my 2 cents..not bashing the BMW Performance shocks...I actually had them on my E90 with H&R Sport springs......I would use them only with the factory OE springs wether sport or non sport springs its a good upgrade.
The rebound is extremely unpleasant. Save and buy the Koni's since Bilstein no longer sells the SPORT shock, but can be aquird by special order only. I have a set its was on my car for 1 week.....im giving it away, I would be ashamed to sell it to someone...let me know if anyone wants its, Im in Fairfax VA. |

I'm about to get pro kit with my old performance dampers. I think it's a little too bouncy especially with 3 others. And I would like to lower it to about 1 index finger width height.
