Car worse after detail?
I recently got my car detailed by a reputable detail center and I'm not sure what to make of it. The paint is exceptionally smooth and great shine. In indirect sunlight, the car looks great and almost brand new.
Sitting in the garage under led and halogen lights, the car looks stunning. However, in direct sunlight, it seems there is some haze going on or the sun hitting the panels and just a weird effect going on that wasn't there before. Not sure if it is too much product and after a hand wash, it'll be fine or there is damage done. What can it possibly be and what can I do to remedy it? Thanks. Also when you say detailed does that include paint correction?

Thanks for the replies, attached pics taken from phone. Basically I emphasized the hood since it was hard to get pics of other panels with phone camera. However, it looks worse to the eyes...

What was the LSP used? If high carnuaba content wax then it's wax hazing and that should dispappear after a wash or diminish over a few days. Generally too much product leads to a hazy finish but a good wash will remedy it.

It looks like you have some holograms? I can't tell from the pics but that means they used incorrect techniques (usually too fast) while buffing.
You should have them correct it or depending on where you live I can recommend a specialist in your area perhaps. If its just hazy it will likely go away over time. The sun is considered the "light of the truth", so anything you see in the sun is truly there. |

Will it be an easy fix if I bring it back to them or what is the process if it is damaged? Thanks. |

If you can feel the scratches, then there you go. See if you can determine if they are scratches or not; to be honest, if I were in your situation I would have already attempted to come to a conclusion.
If they aren't scratches, then you should be able to wipe a part off with your finger. If that's the case, just give the car a wash. |

Wax hazing will go away after the wax gases out in a few days.
Do you have any better pictures, hard to tell if that holograms or what in the picture? Do you know what they used Rotary or a DA, what polishes what LSP? If not best bet go back and ask them to fix it, if not comfortable with that post that up and get some recs for pros in your area, they'll fix it but it will cost more. Also East Coast is a bit ambiguous where are you located for the recs? |
